Cozy atmosphere, crispy burrito!

Their burrito is delicious, crispy around the tortilla, paired nicely with a few Blue Star lagers. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was very kind despite.

If you’re vegan, request your food as vegan. They do have regular cheese and sour cream to be inclusive to those who aren’t entirely vegan.

Best burrito in town!

I loved eating at Poyo & the Sprout, when I lived in St John’s. It’s a wonderful independent business, with a great variety of vegan options! I highly recommend trying the burrito 🌯 it was also great to be able to try poutine, as a vegan from the UK 🤓

Pros: Vegan burrito , Lots of yummy vegan options, Friendly service

Best vegan Caesar salad and tacos

Can’t speak more highly of this place. Beautiful aesthetic as a bonus to the stellar menu. The vegan Caesar salad is an absolute must. The sandwiches are also so good and fresh with their own homemade bread. Another star is the tacos which also have their own homemade tortillas. Also some excellent vegan/gf desserts.

Tasty

Most of the menu is vegan so vegans will be happy here. Only cheese and sour cream are not vegan. The « enchilada » (with non vegan cheese) was delicious, so was the « Fries dressing gravy » (vegan). Highly recommend!

Pros: Food was tasty

Vegan Poutine

They serve delicious vegan poutine. The food is very tasty. The enchiladas are definitely worth trying, too.
Another positive is that all the desserts on the counter were vegan.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Tasty food, Vegan poutine, Fresh food

Many choices and delicious soft sweet bread! Slow service but worth the wait.

Great atmosphere! The decor was calming and fun. Many amazing menu choices. When we were there on a Friday night, it looked like there was only 2 people working but it was a full house of customers. So our food took a long time to come out. However, it was well worth the wait - everything was delicious. The bread is homemade on site and should not be missed!

Pros: Diverse array of menu choices, Homemade sweet bread, Atmosphere and Decor

Cons: Slow service, Hours.

Impeccable place

After a week of car trip around Newfoundland eating whatever I found was vegan (not much I have to say), arriving at St. John’s and finding this place felt miraculous.
Super pretty place, filling enchilada with nice vegan cheese and really nice and natural homemade lemonade.

Pros: Comfy, Filling, Flavourful

Great options

We ate here several times last week when we visited St. John's, including brunch on Saturday, and also made a couple of trips just to pick up a vegan cinnamon bun. The food was very good and the counter staff was friendly. I was very happy to see that this restaurant participates in the Second Harvest program - another way they show compassion. It's a winning place in all ways.

Delicious dishes and lots of vegan options!

Solid menu and great flavour all around! Per some previous reviews and from our experience, some items are definitely better than others. Would highly recommend the enchiladas with their vegan cheeze, very delicious and quite a big meal. Tacos can be hit or miss. Went back for the Saturday brunch, food was good and nice portion sizes. Nothing special but nice to have a breakfast vegan option in St. John’s!

Mediocre but glad to find vegan food

The restaurant is vegetarian but most dishes are vegan, and the vegan options are clearly labelled. The Pad Thai was mediocre. It was too sweet and not very flavourful otherwise. There was a meagre amount of tofu and vegetables. Maybe I just didn’t order the right dish - their burritos looked delicious. Regardless, the meal was filling and I was glad to find vegan food in St John’s! Cute exterior decor and cozy ambiance.

Great vegan options

Had the avocado taco which is not a taco at all; more like a burrito. Super yummy

Tasty

A great find! Really tasty vegan food & generous portions. The cinnamon buns are soooo good! One of the few clearly labelled vegan options in St John’s that has late opening hours & friendly staff who want your custom.

I ordered a small vegan caesar salad and an enchilada. Both were very good. Satisfying and filling while still feeling healthy.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Filling Vegan Options

Although not entirely vegan, there are plenty of vegan options or meals that can be modified. I got the enchiladas with vegan cheese and TVP. The portion was large, price was super reasonable and it tasted delicious. I would definitely go back if I was in St. John's!

Pros: Lots of vegan options (including desserts) , Big portions , Great service

Great option downtown

First night in St. John’s and we picked this spot; it did not disappoint. Chose the enchilada, pad Thai and poutine. Enchilada was yummy. Pad Thai is decent (tough to beat authentic Thai restaurants near our home) and the kids loved the poutine. Will definitely be back.

Pros: Lots of options, Great location, Nice atmosphere

Cons: No table service

Solid Vegan food

Had the enchilada- stuffed full of delicious fake ground beef and beans. Enchilada sauce was flavorful, could have been improved by some vegan cheese and sour cream- making it vegan means just forgoing cheese altogether. Green salad was solid. Poutine was not great.

Pros: Everything can be made vegan

Cons: No dairy cheese

Best food I had all week

Having spent a week staying in St John's for work I can hands down say the Enchiladas I had here was the best meal I had & I wish I'd found it sooner. The restaurant had a very relaxed environment, ideal for me as a lone diner.

Pros: Full Veggie/Vegan menu, Very reasonably priced
