A Flavorful Delight by the Pier - Edit
Salt. Sun. Disembarking. I first found Plant Junkie when I was searching for a vegan restaurant near Pier 16. My dad and I had just gotten off the Circle Line cruise after a run around of a day. Everywhere was just too far. Until I found Plant Junkie! Just 6 minutes from the pier, we ordered, were sat, and had our food in less than 10 mins. And what food it was! Comforting, filling, and guilt free! Good prices, good service, and good food. Highly recommend!

Excellent vegan choc chip cookie and solid food - Edit
I ordered takeout from Plant Junkie, although the interior seating seemed nice. I ordered the following based on the server’s recommendation:
Read more- Bangkok Noodle Drop Bowl: good but not great; the noodles were solid cold sesame noodles but didnt stand out; the curried tofu was a bit pungent; and the salad seemed underseasoned
- Yucatán Smack Bowl: definitely better and more flavorful of the two bowls; comforting rice and beans
- Chocolate Chip Cookie: this was the highlight of the meal!! It was huge, so a very generous portion. It was deliciously soft (interior was cake-like) and crumbly. Would go back just to try more of their cookies!

Delicious vegan Food - Edit
Super nice place with a pretty good selection of vegan delicious food. We chose the Hipster Burger, the Yucatan Bowl and fries and enjoyed all of it. Big portions, we had no space for a dessert and sadly no time to go there a second time. The team there is very friendly and in a good mood, the area of this cute restaurant is also very interesting and worth visiting***

Tofu Red Curry - WOW. - Edit
We ordered two things — Tofu Red Curry and the Caesar Chicken Wrap. We went wrong with the wrap. The menu has a lot of specialty vegan items that resemble the Chef’s home country (Sri Lanka) and region, and we wish that we ordered more curries and warm bowls instead of the wrap.

Plant Junkie has upped their game! - Edit
Plant Junkie had a bunch of branches inside food courts, and they were starting to decrease in quality. I visited this branch by the South Street Seaport today and was extremely impressed; they are back at the top of the game! This place, unlike their previous NYC venues, is a separate restaurant (i.e., not in a food court) with plenty of comfortable seating. At this branch, you order at the counter, and they bring the food to you (with silverware on a ceramic plate).
Read moreThey offer comfort food, but they also offer healthier plant-based bowls. Today, I had a "Yucatan Smack" bowl (beans, rice, salad, tofu) that was delicious. I also had a (less healthy, but still yummy) huge chocolate chip cookie. 🍪 😋

Amazing food and so friendly - Edit
Super friendly staff member at the front who discussed why they’d opened an all vegan restaurant like this. I said I was super happy to find them through Happy Cow. Food was delicious - I had the po boy swag- southern po boy sandwich (seitan). It was massive and kept me going for the rest of the day.

The couple that owns the restaurant are so kind! The food is delicious! And the best part: the seating area is lovely. Calm and private. Real plates and forks. That’s so rare in NYC these days. Finally somewhere peaceful to eat lunch on a workday!

Very good food - Edit
All vegan restaurant. I ordered Tokyo Bowl and it was super good. The BBQ “beef” was almost too realistic but really good. It had the sort of good grilled tasted. The portion was quite big. I took side salad too that that was totally unnecessary 😊

I was expecting a more southern comfort/soul food vibe. Totally on me - once I see something is vegan honestly I don’t put much more thought into it.

Love it! - Edit
Chicken Caesar Wrap, “The Hipster,” fries, peanut butter cookie. So good! Fries wonderfully cooked and crispy, sandwiches delicious. They promised us the last peanut butter cookie, but gave it away…to another customer: However, the owner came out, apologized and baked one fresh for us right then. That is a kind, generous person, who took care of us! Highly recommended! Also: great/chill location.
