Finding vegan food in Tokyo is rather difficult and especially in local restaurants. I tried Plant Based Tokyo and the food is good but I would not recommend this place if you don’t like meat substitutes / soy meat because every single dish is composed of soy meat. I prefer vegetables and more creativity when it comes to vegan food. However, that‘s personal preference and I am sure this place is appealing to many vegans. It bothered me though that the food hall was not authentic at all. It was mostly visited by tourists and I did not like the atmosphere there.

Fantastic Gapao Rice - Edit
The gapao rice was out of this world - an absolute 10/10. Sadly, we couldn't say the same for the karaage, which was too dry and hard for us to even finish. Despite that, I'd return in a heartbeat for the gapao.

This restaurant can be found in a cool little food hall. I was in the mood for curry and I’m glad I tried it. It was really good. What was most impressive was the grilled vegetables that topped the curry. Very tasty. I definitely need to sample their other offerings, particularly the vegan lasagna.

Came here 7 times in my brief stay in Tokyo. quite simply bussing; mostly on the 4種プレート, faves are the vegan uni (面白いいい) and the eggplant (一番好きな野菜)

Fantastic bibimbap - Edit
I haven’t had bibimbap since I went vegan seven years ago, but this one tasted just like how I remembered it. Maybe even better?? Large portions and friendly, bilingual staff were also a plus. The uni cream pasta was delicious too.
Read moreThis is inside Food Hall Blast, a very cool but slightly noisy place. We grabbed a table outside, where it was quieter, and had a wonderful evening. As far as I could tell, most (all?) of the other restaurants in the food hall had vegan options. Restrooms were nice and clean and water was easily available.

The service was really quick, and the food was delicious! We looked online and saw that they closed at 11pm (it seems that the food court location closes at this time), but, in actuality, they close at around 8pm (we were lucky and came in at around 7:30 to order, and was still served).

Killer bibimbap - Edit
The soy bibimbap was so flavorful and a huge portion size. It also came with a miso soup! I got a waffle for dessert and though it tasted great the texture was more cakey than expected. The air conditioner drips condensation on you while you wait at the register which made for a horrid ordering experience, though I quickly forgot about this after tasting the food.

With limited options in the area, decided to try this place and was not disappointed. The food we chose was light but filling. It was a 3 plate set with rice, which consisted of a potato salad and aubergine curry. Staff spoke a little english but it was easy enough to point at the displayed items on the menu. Everything tasted fresh and flavoursome.

We had Korean Bibimbap and a Japanese-style obento but with vegan fried chicken, potato salad and eggplants; onion soup was a bit boring but all in all a fair amount of good food for an average price
