Is it really Junk food?

Nestled within the Chiado district, Plant Base presents a concealed entrance that may easily be overlooked, as I initially did. However, upon entering, a remarkable transformation occurs. The interior is spacious and features two distinct dining areas: one situated near the entrance and the other situated around the corner, adjacent to the bar.
While the description of Plant Base suggests that it serves “junk food,” I strongly disagree. The culinary offerings here are exceptional. I have visited Plant Base twice within a week, and each time, I have been pleasantly surprised.
On my first visit, I indulged in The Special Burger, a delectable creation featuring a Beyond Burger patty, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, fried onions, tomatoes, cucumber pickles, and sriracha mayonnaise, all nestled on a red onion bun.
On my second visit, I opted for the JHOL MOMO, a culinary masterpiece consisting of steamed Himalayan Momos immersed in a delectable tomato curry, complemented by red onions and cilantro.
In my opinion, I have discovered my favorite Plant Base dish. The JHOL MOMO boasts a harmonious blend of flavors, with a touch of heat that resonated with my preferences. Its deep, rich taste left me thoroughly satisfied.

Great (heavy) food & lovely service!

I went here super hungry after a long day of travel. The people working there were super sweet and happy to offer up food suggestions when I couldn't choose. The restaurant has a bar feeling, but also a nicer space where you can sit and work or just enjoy if you don't mind the music and city sounds. I ordered the nachos and garlic bread appetizers for my meal and it was a lot of food for one person! I ended up taking some home. They were both delicious -- the nachos are packed with lots of different topics and and full of good flavors. The garlic bread was warm, soft, and gooey in all of the right places. My whole meal costed around $16 USD with water, but I just arrived so I am not sure if this price is good for the area or not.

Pros: Amazing food, Great serivce, Close to a popular area

Good pizza

Small place with a lot of different vegan pizzas. They are good but a bit pricey. Feels like a fast food joint.

Flavorful Vegan Options

Loved the food preparation! We ate Taquito de Garbanzo, Pesto pizza, Nachos and Seitanitas. They all tasted really good! Been here thrice during our stay at Lisbon. The dishes were reasonably priced and the location was convenient. The service was quick and efficient! Highly recommend😄

Surprisingly the best food we had in Lissabon so far

We ordered nachos that came with tasty toppings and reasonably priced, and a mushrooms pizza, that was good and special. A bit small and the dough could be fluffier.

Not good

Maybe we came on the wrong day but onion rings were dry, my seitan tacos were just very sour and very chewy, the momos were good tho, but unfortunately not my taste. Also we waited like 20min before we even got served and the guy was literally standing at the entrace by our table.😐

Fantastic pizza

The potato isn't used enough on pizza and we need more of it. I don’t mean the Scottish Calazone (folded pizza with fried chips in the middle).
Pizza with thinly sliced spuds and vegan sausage was fantastic. Really light fluffy bread and not too much cheese. It was ready in minutes and I would recommend it.

Dropped in again and have no complaints at all.

And again went wild and. Ate Momos, my nose is running as they weee spicy and tasty!

One warnings the starters are big for one person, in battles on.

Nice food

Came here for the first time and we can recommend this place. Staff is really friendly prices are reasonable. Food is excellent.

A highlight in Lisbon

We’ve tried a few vegan places during our trip to Portugal and this one was for sure in the top 3. Everything was delicious - pizzas, himalayan dumplings, garlic bread. And the true star - onion rings. Probably the best I’ve ever had!

A MUST IN LISBON

Arguably the best vegan restaurant we’ve encountered during our stay in Portugal. Great pizza, great starters, the best onion rings I’ve ever had!!!!

Fully vegan fast food restaurant

Plant Base is a fully plantbased restaurant in a central and beautiful location in Lisbon. They serve some savery starters, burgers, pizza and tacos. As I am not a big fan of fast food, I chose the chickpea tacos, and I was surprised that they were actually really tasty. Unfortunately they did not serve any salads or soups or lighter, healthy stuff. But I think that most people will find something on the menue that they will like. I also had a tasty sugarfree hibiscus limonade. The interior design is also quite nice inside.

Love the food here!!

Been here multiple times and the pizza never seems to disappoint me, its rly that good and ofc it has vegan cheese. It even fooled the non vegans i was with, they forgot they were eating vegan pizza!!! My fav is the capricciosa

They have a lot of different types of cuisine you can choose from.
Dont really recommend the chorizo tacos, not very chorizo-y, and the special burguer was nothing special either. Try the prego, which is typically portuguese and although this version is not very similar, it was tasty!

Friendly staff, delicious food for a solid price

Nice location and a small restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Staff was really friendly. We had the burger and it was really delicious!

Solid

Ok location, nice staff. The food is good, but apart from the momos and maybe the tacos nothing out of the ordinary. You get what you expect, and won’t be disappointed.

Okay Food & place to eat

We went for lunch & it was overall okay. The service was okay, Unfortunately the interior is not as inviting & it is not really a nice place to sit for a longer while.
The food was good but maybe also not something I would come back for especially.

Easy spot with easy good/junky food

Loved the spot. The place is cool all the wall is covered by green plastic grass and the design of the place is very good. The service is nice and the best part is the good variety and version of food. You can find Pizza Hot dogs tacos all In a vegan version.

Is a good spot to go when you want a junky food or even a good easy pizza.

5 start for what I described above.

Quite good!

Burger/pizza restauranr style. We had the pesto pizza, which was good but nothing spectaular, and the onion burguer, which we liked more.

Nice vegan lunch option in Lisbon

Very good service and a big plus they are open on Sunday! Good place for a light lunch and right near the center of town. I had the classic burger and fries while my partner (who eats meat) had the chickpea tacos and nachos. Finished off with the mango sorbet.

Soul food

The burgers are amazing! The fried onions and the garlic bread a dream and the momos are really good (the red curry is very spicy, beware!). Definitely recommend this place if you're craving soul food!

juicy vegan burger and more

i recommend this place for one of the tastiest vegan burgers (they use beyond meat patties) i ever had or if you fancy vegan junk food after a night out. fries are super tasty as well and the staff is very friendly.

Plant Base

Great burger and pizza bar with other fast food options available. We shared a pizza that was good, but I believe we didn't make the best choice. I found the pizza Bigger than Mac a bit overrated. We'll need to try again to taste other options.
