Yummy yummy in my tummy - Edit
The vegan tofu curry was very tasty, packed with flavour. Food wasn't greasy at all and full of fresh veggies. Can't wait to try more of the menu! 🥰

Food was beautiful and not over priced. Full veggie menu and was told anything on that menu could be made vegan. Summer spring rolls, done just as they are in Vietnam! Thrilled

Great little place - Edit
Stumbled in here after going to the Winter Gardens and Museum. Veggie/vegan menu in the window and separate to the other menu.
Read moreA good few options for both starters and mains. We both got a fruit ice tea, he got summer rolls and I got spring rolls - both very tasty and fresh. I then got the curry which was fantastic, sweet & salty and full of flavour, packed full of tofu and veggies, with a side of rice. Very filling! He got the vegan pho which had a really good flavour too it.
Both really enjoyed it and said we’d be back.
Pros: Separate veggie/vegan menu, Fresh starters, Yummy filling mains
Cons: Vg options not clear on main menu, Starters perhaps a little expensive

Hanoi the Lads - Edit
Things seemed a bit rushed tonight but the food was good and the beer and company great. My Vegan Spicy Beef Noodle Soup was immensely satisfying with a slight punch which I made even more punchier by drizzling some Chinese chilli oil from the condiments tray. This really helped ramp it up to more adventurous heat levels. The only issue was it arrived full of tofu rather than vegan beef. Whilst I do love tofu I really fancied some spicy vegan beef. The vegan curry a vegan colleague had looked excellent and was thoroughly appreciated. £72 for 4 mains and beers. A decent effort.

An option - Edit
We visited Sunderland for a gig and chose this spot for a quick bite. Being a busy Saturday, we were lucky to get a table. Pressed for time, we eventually received the vegan/vegetarian menu. While it’s always nice to see a separate menu, this one felt more like a collection of options thrown together rather than thoughtfully curated.
Read moreWe quickly ordered the vegan curry, vegan beef ramen, and a couple of drinks. The food arrived promptly, accompanied by a complimentary cabbage side salad. The vegan curry was as expected—decent but nothing remarkable. The “vegan beef” ramen, however, turned out to be tofu. While I personally enjoy tofu, the menu should have been clearer. The ramen, advertised as spicy, lacked heat and seasoning, though the portion size was generous.
Overall, it was a convenient and quick option for a rushed meal. The staff were friendly but seemed a bit disorganized. While the food wasn’t terrible, it didn’t leave much of an impression. As we left, we all agreed there was no real reason to return, which explains the two-star rating.
Pros: Quick , Portion size

Top pick for vegan Vietnamese - Edit
Pho 179 had a full vegetarian and vegan menu (most vegetarian options could be made vegan too). The food was delicious, fast and friendly service and a city centre location. Would definitely come back to try more of the options.

Welcome addition to the city centre, with friendly staff and very good vegan options from the separate menu.
Read moreWe shared the vegan curry, Pho and pancakes, which were fresh, fragrant and flavoursome, as well as some fries. To end the meal, we also shared some passion fruit mochi balls that were delicious.
Portion sizes are generous and good value for money.
