Permit Room By Dishoom

We were most excited to hear the Permit Room was coming to Brighton so as soon as the soft opening was declared, in we went. Multiple times! The service was really good and offered by newly trained staff members, keen to provide exceptional service and a great experience. The food; where to start? The Permit Room offers vegan options, delivering well presented plates of incredible taste in a decidedly upbeat environment amidst trendy decor. We have been there with friends, family, a dog, a baby, all of whom have been welcomed and accommodated. Some seating is available outdoors but there is a surprisingly large amount of seating inside. This is a perfect venue for having a quiet coffee, enjoying brunch or meeting with friends or colleagues for an evening of cocktails and eating creative food from the inclusive menu. Writing this review reminds me, I must go back! OK, so we have actually been back a few times already. Still love this place. Ate the nibbles before taking photos (I should know better) - Carrot & Chilli Sharp Bites plus the delicious Peanut Masala but hey ho. Today ordered Cauliflower Moilee, Garlic Naan plus the Jackfruit Berry Pulao Special. Exceeded expectation and could sob into my wine glass it was that good! (February 2024)

Lovely birthday lunch

Lovely dinner. Attending a birthday with a party mixed with meat and non meat eaters. Wonderful food, my partner and I shared a daal, mushroom/onion bhaji (OMG so good), chilli and pepper chips, spinach chat and cheese naan. Service was good and they were accommodating of our baby. I had a sour beer which was lovely.

Pros: Full of flavour, Relaxed environment , Nice cocktails

Cons: Big dogs in cramped dining area, Seating up against window
