They have completely vegan options. With vegan cheese, sour cream and "meats". Would most definitely recommend 😋

five star worthy - Edit

This restaurant has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options! They even offer vegan cheese, sour cream and veggie "meat" substitutes. Our veggie family of 5 was happy with everything we ordered. You won't be disappointed if you dine here!

Awesome food. Won't break the bank in a touristy area - Edit

We were searching for something that both we and our family would enjoy (non-veg*ns) that was close to the hotel and affordable. Pelon's hit the nail on the head!

We had plenty of awesome "cali/tex-mex" style veg*n options (fresh veggy/pineapple burrito with habanero sauce), and everyone else was able to find something. Wait staff was very friendly.

Do not miss the Horchata! It's a (rice?) drink that is akin to rice pudding... it's was more delicious than I would be able to describe, just try it!

Pros: Amazing food + value, Conveniently located, Great for veg*n's and families that aren't

A good place for vegan food around the beach! - Edit

I ate there twice for lunch between two baths in the sea and I appreciated the place. It offers various vegan options that are clearly labelled on the menu. I tried the burritos and tacos and found them quite good. Prices are fair for the portion sizes and staff is friendly. Definitely worth a try if in the area!

Pros: various vegan choices, clearly labelled, good food, decent prices, near the beach

Cons: no or few vegan desserts, vegan options more expensive

Savory Vegan Breakfasts and Tons of Options - Edit

This place has a killer menu for Vegans. Most all of the meats can be subbed for vegan option, and they can sub vegan sour cream and cheese too! We were told (by a girl who may or may not have known what she was talking about) that the faux meat is Gardein brand and the cheese is daiya, I'm sure Tofutti is the Sour cream brand but not 100% on that. They have vegan breakfast options made with tofu scramble which are awesome and really the only place offering this in VB (that I know of). I also saw they have a vegan French toast on the menu, but haven't tried it myself personally. I've only had breakfast here but will be back soon to try the other items they offer (I.E faux fish tacos!!). They have a $2 taco night on Wednesday. They upcharge 15% for Vegan option - which I will gladly pay!

One negative however, the girl at the front counter working when we went was extremely Unhelpful and a little rude when we were asking her questions about the menu stating that she couldn't advise us on popular menu choices because she wasn't vegan...... Other than that, everything is fresh and yummy and it looks like it could be a fun nighttime spot since they have expanded the seating area and added a bar.

Pros: Great Food, Lots of Vegan Options, Savory Vegan Breakfast Items

Cons: Unhelpful Staff

I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but they do unfortunately serve meat. But for a non-veg restaurant, they go above and beyond to serve excellent vegan food! It really is the best vegan fare I've ever had at a non-vegan restaurant. Their tacos and burritos are ALL amazing---they serve vegan cheese, vegan sour cream, vegan seitan and tofu versions of all their meats---PLUS THEY SERVE VEGAN BREAKFAST! The breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros are made with tofu scramble and are amazing. Plus $3 mimosas in the morning. Do yourself a favor and go to Pelon's!

Pros: Vegan versions of almost all menu items, Super Friendly Staff, Optional outdoor seating

Vegan at the beach! - Edit

Vegan vacations can require planning, but we found this place right there walking distance from the ocean and our hotel and we hardly even used the efficiency kitchen in our room. For a place that is famous for fish tacos, more than half of their menu can be made vegan, including breakfast!
Vegan huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos with egg-style tofu scramble and house made mock-meat proteins. We had around ten different items over the course of our stay and really enjoyed everything. They make a vegan substitute for chicken, beef and fish in house. The fish is fried tofu and the chicken and beef are seitan I think. One day the chicken was a bit salty but on others it was perfect. The "beef" and "fish" were my two favorites. They have a vegan sour cream and use a vegan cheese that I'm pretty sure was the pepperjack Daiya.

All of the produce tasted fresh and well prepared, nothing was too spicy but they offer an array of hot sauces and will add jalapenos to anything at no extra charge.

Items that can be made vegan are very clearly marked on the menu and are not made vegan by leaving out ingredients, all non-vegan components are replaced with a vegan version of that ingredient.

The staff was friendly and helpful and had a super positive attitude. The owner thanked us for coming in and asked for our feedback on the vegan items.
They make a pretty good margarita and a damn good and cheap mimosa.

Big filling burritos were reasonably priced and much better than the national food chain burritos. Tacos can be ordered singly or in threes. Things that come with guacamole have big portions of chunky fresh made guac.
Vegan items do have a 15% up-charge but I was satisfied with the value meal after meal, and will be going back every time I am in the area.

Pros: Big menu, Great Vibe, Excellent food
