They will make pretty much anything on their menu vegan- fish tacos, steak burritos, quesadillas, you name it! We always make sure to stop by Pelon’s when we are in the area.

We were starved after a 6 mile walk down the boardwalk. The burrito plus chips filled me plenty. The chips were light and crispy but pretty salty and a little oily. The guac was great. The gringo burrito was pretty bare bones and plain tasting with just vegan chorizo, beans, and rice for the most part. I usually like more veggies in my burrito. They also didn’t have picked jalapeños which was a let down. It was pretty loud too. But overall filled us up well and they can make EVERYTHING on the menu vegan which is pretty neat.

Good But Not Consistent - Edit
Pelones is a nice getaway along the strip of Virginia Beach, with a cool aesthetic on the inside and many good morsels of food to partake of. When it comes to veggie or vegan options, this place makes a lot of their own meatless meats, cheeseless cheeses, and will provide you with a variety of entrees whether you eat meat or not! The only downside, from my recent visits, is that the quality of food is not always consistent, so if you find yourself not impressed the first time, I implore you to give them another shot!

Everything (with the exception of kids chicken nuggets) can be ordered vegan. The kids menu even specifies that the items can be made vegan. Makes it very easy for kiddos to order. One of the best texmex restaurants I’ve eaten at.

Not too many choices near my hotel, but luckily I found this place. They can make almost everything vegan and have fake steak, chicken, tofu, etc. Friendly and good beer too.

There were a ton of vegan options here. Aside from being way too expensive, the vegan chicken tacos were bland and honestly disgusting. I got 2 vegan chicken tacos, took one bite, and threw out the rest. I really did not enjoy them at all. The vegan carne asada fries, however, were incredible. If I had only had the fries it would be a 4 star review, if I only had the tacos it would have been a 1.

I’ve been coming here for many years. It’s a real shame they no longer offer breakfast, because the vegan pancakes and breakfast burritos were the best! The vegan fish tacos are great and the taco salad is amazing. You can sub grilled veggies for any of the vegan meats, but they sometimes accidentally upcharge for this instead of substituting the veggies. Anything on the menu with a flower indicates that it can be make vegan. The watermelon margaritas are also awesome.

When you are waiting in line you pick up a paper menu and see noted on the bottom right corner they have vegan chicken, soyrizo, vegan cheese and sour cream that can be replaced on any dish. So most of the menu can be vegan. It was pretty awesome. My daughter and I shared nachos. Husband got a fat burrito. The place was so crowded and busy but we were able to get a table after we ordered. There is another location which may not be as busy.

Almost everything on the menu could be made vegan! I had the nachos and they were delicious! They also offered vegan brownies and Whoopi pies. The food came out super quickly and the staff was nice. Only downside was plastic forks/straws/cups and disposable salsa cup.

This restaurant has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options! They even offer vegan cheese, sour cream and veggie "meat" substitutes. Our veggie family of 5 was happy with everything we ordered. You won't be disappointed if you dine here!

it was hectic due to current pandemic, many customers were not wearing masks, so I was uncomfortable. we ordered our food at the counter, then sat outside. my Vegan "steak" was an impressive mock meat; I'm thinking it was seitan. would have liked to see some Tofu / Tempeh as a protein option.

Such a shame this app won't let you rate 5 for not fully vegan restaurants because this was amazing! They offered plant based options for everything and even had vegan treats at the front of the store.
