Serves meat, vegan options available. They have a separate vegan menu and have been trained by vegan chefs and using their recipes. Reported closed to HappyCow.
The owner was very friendly and knowledgable about vegan food. The vegan lasagna was to die for and I can't wait to eat here again. I wish all restaurants took as much care as Pappy's to provide vegans with healthy and delicious options. *5 stars*
Pappy's is a long-time restaurant that was taken over by new owner-operators Spero & Barrie Asimos in Oct 2010 & is open 7 days from 6am-2pm for breakfast & lunch. Â Pappy's is very clean, cheery & bright with lots of windows. Â The owners & staff are very friendly and treat you with the good old fashion neighborhood mom & pop service that will keep you coming back for more. Â The owners are very accommodating in meeting any dietary needs of their vegan & non-vegan customers -- all you have to do is ask! Â Barrie & Spero worked closely with the Weimer Center for Health & Education to create their first vegan menu, and have come up with some very healthy & delicious options. Â We enjoyed the tofu scramble, french toast, and especially the waffle. Â You can choose honey, soy butter or fresh fruit for toppings. Â Portions are generous, and most items are organic and come from local farmers. Â We can't wait to try some of the lunch items: lasagna, stir-fry, veggie burger (not Boca), & veggie sandwich. Â They also offer vegan sides: hummus, chili cup, BBQ beans, tofu cottage cheese, & fruit. Â My father-in-law was very excited to find out about the homemade gluten-free fruit pies. Â Barrie even makes a peach or pear sugar-free version -- no chemical-filled sugar substitutes, just the natural sweetness of the fruit. Â Each huge slice is heavily filled with fruit, crust & love. Â Spero & Barrie are hoping to expand the vegan menu and to come up with some new specials of their own. Â Please show your support & give Pappy's a try.
