Funky place and dog friendly 🐕

No hot food other than pies now that wild spice has moved.

But they do offer a pie warmer stacked with vegan pies, great sweet selection, croissants and pre packed salads. Fantastic selection of drinks.

Games and pool table for entertainment. Super friendly staff and a lovely retro relaxed vibe. They also hire out the venue for gatherings.

Cozy Coffee Spot

Such a nice place to sit down for a coffee and pastry in the morning. I always opt for a meat pie

Turned their backs on the animals

Used to be a fully vegan cafe. They've now started selling cow's milk. Very sad to see businesses moving backwards like this. I can't in good conscience continue to go there and support their decision contribute to animal suffering.

Cosy hang out

Hung out here before my flight back home, I had a pie, hot chocolate and a biscoff cake and they all tasted very nice. I love that they have a pool table and board games so you can hang out for a while there. Staff were really friendly too

Nice for coffee and cake or pie

Some really great decadent cakes and slices. Great for coffee and a cake …or a pie. Has a really funky vibe. Pool table, games, bit of fun. Not good for a lunch meetup or hearty meal. We had the snickers pie, was really rich so shared it . Delicious.

Yum and fun

Came here for brunch, we grabbed some (vegan!) meat pies, coffees, and shared one of the desserts. Charming inside and out, has a juke box and pool table available for use.

Pros: All vegan , All delicious , Nice vibes

Friendly, funky and fresh

Stopped here for a pie and salad and we were very impressed. Limited food options from the counter only but all very fresh and tasty. The balsamic mushroom pie had very flaky pastry and the buckwheat salad was definitely fresh and homemade. Very friendly staff and very helpful.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Counter food only

A delightful discovery

Just discovered this delightful café/coffee house. Inside and outside eating in colourful pleasant settings. Terrific, friendly, easy to related to staff and a fabulous selection of vegan pies. The café is ENTIRELY vegan. A selections of salad items as well and cakes is appealing. Chai latte with almond milk my preference and it was great. Decor is colourful and interesting and the café includes interesting nooks for those seeking quiet conversation. A quirky addition is a quarter pool table. It'll please some.

Pros: staff, decor, food

Cons: One seat sloping in the outside area. , I found nearby parking with a 200m walk

Great coffee and sweets

Coffee is great and staff are compassionately human. The food truck is long gone but they have ready made salads, sweets and savoury pastries.

Cafe only, snacks only

Not enough food options at all. This is a snack only cafe. Went looking for lunch at about 1pm. Petty much nothing left to eat, of the megre options they had in the first place. Go somewhere else.

Pros: None

Cons: Snacks only

Great place, great food, great coffee and great staff. The food truck always has a new special so if your a regular there is always something new to try though it can be hard to stray from your favourites. Also pistachio croissants 👌

Best atmosphere you'll ever experience

This was easily the best experience I've had at a cafe period. Sitting out the back in the courtyard was so chill, the music wasn't loud (perfect volume), heaps of greenery and plenty of places to sit. The people were rediculously friendly, clearly loved being there and made you feel so welcome. Then of course there is the food, easily the best Vegan nachos I've ever had, the burger was super joicy and the Mac & Cheese, oh my god I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did (definitely get the pumkin on top.

Paper Moon is a 1973 film but this is a restaurant not a film.

When the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pie (The moon I'm referring too is Paper Moon Cafe)

Paper Moon and Wildspice kitchen are a great vegan duo. Lots of coffee, juices and soft drinks available at the cafe and the kitchen has a wild selection of breakfasts, burgers and other food.

Pros: Free pool table, Selection of board and card games, Jukebox (groovy)

Nice spot but food is bland

I hate leaving negative reviews for vegan places as I try to support them all. Great spot, friendly staff, good prices, food looked great but......it was so bland! No flavour. I ordered the Amelie which is tofu, hash browns, croissant. Possibly the worst scrambled tofu I've had. It had no seasoning...was runny....tasted like raw egg whites. And I love scrambled tofu I eat it almost everyday. Hash brown looked great but was so bland. Almost felt like the food didn't even have salt. Perhaps it was just an off morning for them. I might be willing to try it again, maybe a different item but yeah my experience was pretty disappointing

Tasty

Always new options and specials. Totally vegan menu including the milks in the cafe. My favourite is the mac n cheeze pasta with pumpkin. Food can sometimes be a little cold or cool quickly but the people serving are always so friendly and helpful. They also have a cake cabinet.

The BEST vegan food

This is probably the best vegan eat-in place I’ve been to in Brisbane. I’m a fussy vegan, and I enjoy every meal I get there. I really recommend the Mushroom burger!! So yum

Amazing drinks and wonderful atmosphere

My boyfriend and I go almost every weekend. The drinks are so good and the atmosphere is wonderful. We love playing pool or chess and we always end up getting over 4 different drinks cause they’re soo good. The staff are lovely and friendly. I love getting some food from the Wild Spice Kitchen van while I’m there.

Love!

I love paper moon!! Consistently great meals, cute setting, delicious polenta and a great variety of meals. The cooks are very knowledgeable about what’s in their food too and can help you choose the right meal if you have any allergies etc. The drinks are also great! The waiting time can be a bit long if it’s busy but it’s worth it.

Pros: Vegan! , Dog friendly , Consistently great meals

Cons: Sometimes a long waiting period , Seating out of the sun can be limited

The most comfortable cafe ever

Four of us (three omnis and a vegan) enjoyed Paper Moon around 10am on a Sunday for a top notch breakfast.
The setting is great. They took a suburban house and turned it into a character-full cafe and function venue. They had a good idea and executed it very well. I would love it even more if they got ride of some of he plastic greenery in favour of real plants. The free pool table is a really nice touch - we had fun playing while we waited for our meals.
Ordering the food is strangely done outside at a permanently parked food truck. It’s a strange concept and experience but I enjoyed it overall.
The downside is that you are given a buzzer which goes off when the food is ready and I found that a bit tacky.
I had heard that the wait time for meals could be a bit long but that wasn’t the case for us. All four meals came out in around 15 minutes which was pretty good by any standards.
We ordered 2 x French toast and 2 x ‘Bilbo’ which is a tasting plate of various things. I loved the food as did the omnis with me. All of us were quite full by the end of breakfast. We also had chai lattes made with Oatly which were very nicely made and quite delicious.
The comfortable ambience is aided by many homely couches in various rooms and is aided by the chill music which wafts throughout the converted house.
When we left at 11am it was quite full and I’m so glad they are so deservedly popular (and doubly glad I live nearby). $60 for four people is pretty good too.

Pros: Excellent ambience (and staff), Fantastic food and coffees, Reasonably priced

Cons: Taking a star away for plastic plants

Great food and lovely venue

The food here was so good! We did a build your own mac n cheese and the pumpkin with potato and carrot rosti bowl. Both were great and so we're the juices.
The place is really comfy with couches inside, a pool table and a cute backyard outdoor area.
Will definitely be back 😊

Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere

Reasonable?

Service is not that great really. Drinks are fine, but food took forever and was overpriced, not to mention below average. Fine if you just want a vegan place to have lunch and don't mind waiting.
