Interesting and clearly labeled vegan options

Clearly labeled vegan options, including a soy glazed eggplant appetizer and jackfruit tacos. Both were delicious and a welcome break from the standard brewery vegan fare of a Beyond Burger. They had a soup special that was vegan, too.

Pros: Not your standard vegan options, Nice (non vegan) kids menu, Big outdoor patio that is dog friendly

Cons: Beer was OK but not spectacular

Pretty good

Relaxed, family friendly restaurant. Felt more restaurant than brewery.

Pros: Couple of different options available

Delicious

They had a few vegan options. I got the chickpea curry and it was delicious and flavorful. They also had two vegan appetizers and a black bean burger.

Pros: Flavor, Several options , Good beer

Delicious vegan options

Had the vegan special of the day - tofurizo tostada and really enjoyed it! Husband had the jackfruit tacos which he enjoyed as well.

Pros: Nice, knowledgeable staff, Delicious vegan options

Cons: Not many vegan options , Vegan options not identified on the menu too well

So so

They were out of the veggie burger, so I was stuck with a garden salad and chips & guac. Atmosphere is great, but some vegan options would be helpful!

Vegan Options, Willing to Accommodate

I went here for lunch. I had the edamame starter…so good. For my main meal, I selected the house salad…it was big, filling, and delicious. I also shared a soft pretzel with my husband…they were accommodating and put oil instead of butter on pretzel. My husband had chips and salsa with black bean dip…he liked the dip but said it was dish as a whole was underwhelming and probably wouldn’t get it again. We left with happy bellies and pleased with the service. Just wish they had more vegan options on the menu…like the tacos I saw in previous reviews. I was disappointed that they weren’t on the menu when we went. Love me some tacos! Overall, good experience and would recommend.

Pros: Vegan options on menu, Staff willing to accommodate

Cons: Vegan options not clearly marked, Could be more options

Vegan Options & Live Music

Wind powered brew pub with vegan options. Dining with a carnivore so we were both happy. Enjoyed the food, service and entertainment.

Definitely not really vegan friendly. Don’t go for lunch, there is nothing vegan

Found this place on Happy Cow, very disappointed. Not vegan friendly at all. There is only the chipotle burger that you can eat and you have to remove the aïoli.
The waiter wasn’t helpful at all helping me to find something vegan on the menu.

good food!

I ordered the “vegan tacos” which came with jackfruit, cilantro, and onions. They were pretty good!! They also had a veggie burger option, and their specialty menu listed a “vegan dessert” of homemade ice cream cookie, but it wasn’t available 😞

Pros: Good food & drinks

Cons: Only like 2 options

Great beers, good food

I got their portobello salad, which was actually really nice - half an avocado, a grilled mushroom, lots of cucumber and tomato, and a decent sized scoop of quinoa. I actually felt like I had a real meal!

My omnivore boyfriend loved his food, and we both were happy with beer (but be careful - their sours aren’t vegan). I wasn’t expecting to find a nice restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, but we both had a really classy dinner!

Pros: Wind powered , Good beer, Atmosphere

Cons: Limited vegan options , Non-vegan beer, Busy

Do not waste your time or money

Do not bother. No longer have a vegan menu. Not many options. Unwilling to do a veggie cheese less pizza for my son. Way over priced!!!

Cons: Expensive, Not many options , Not very helpful

pleasantly surprised!

They have a special vegan/vegetarian section on their menu.. tasty choices! I got the coconut tofu with veggies and rice, which was great. It was tapas thursday when we went and the theme was Sri Lankan, which was mostly veggie options as well as a coconut milk custard that was sooo good! The non veg members of our party really enjoyed their meals too. We'll be back when we return to OBX.

Not good for Vegan and Gluten Free

I came here with my family, who are not vegan, but definitely gluten free. They were able to easily find options, which was my main goal. As for things that were vegan and gluten free, this was not the case. The kitchen was able to substitute a couple things on a salad for me so that I could have a meal, though there was nothing on the menu for me. As for a vegan who is not gluten free, the veggie burger is vegan. They also have a couple other options.

Did not live up to description

Waitperson was not very helpful with recommending vegan options. She said there might be vegan options on the dinner menu. Did not bring me a gluten free menu even though I asked about it. Did not know if their veggie burger was vegan and tolde it probably wasn't because there was aioli on it. I told her to go ask the chef if it was vegan because she never seemed to consider taking the initiative to do that. She came back and told me they don't put cheese in it so it probably is. I took a chance and otdered it without the aioli. It was good and the ginger vinaigrette on my side salad was delicious. Didn't see any other vegan options except fries. Also the bar is open until 2am, but the kitchen closes at 10pm. Got a beer sampler and it was really good.

Pros: Excellent craft beers

Cons: Staff not helpful, Not knowledgeable about vegan food

Good veggie burger!

We were on the Outer Banks this summer and stopped here for lunch after seeing on HappyCow that they were vegan friendly. And that is true!
The waitress was able to tell me exactly what I could have that was vegan friendly and gluten free! The chef even prepared some fresh guacamole for my veggie burger. Food was really good!
Only draw back is that they have a limited vegan menu for lunch - but dinner there are more options.

Pros: Great Staff, Very Accomodating

Cons: A couple more lunch opptions

Great Surprise

This was a great find! Family member suggested it but I was skeptical. Their gluten free menu was very impressive for a pub and they had a solid number of vegan options. Great food loved the portobella Mushroom sandwich, with gluten free bread, and sweet potato fries and would recommend it to all Great food. Fun environment.
