Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurant and café in the orangery of Schwerin Castle. Vegan choices include a mixed salad, rosemary potatoes, potato & cucumber salad, fries, pasta, several sorbets, and vegan bourbon vanilla ice cream, which can be served with hot cherries. Also has plant milk for hot beverages. Open Mon-Sun 11:00-17:00. Closes seasonally - check ahead.

worth stopping by!

I'm really glad vegans can also enjoy the full tourist experience know when visitting Schwerin's castle. The Orangerie is only opened during the warm months, starting october it closes and the Niklot café which is within the castle opens instead — they offer the identical dishes. Hot beverages can be ordered with plant milk, they have several sorbets and vegan bourbon vanilla ice cream which can be ordered with hot cherries (very delicious). Only the ice cream/sorbets are labelled vegan on the menu however they have several dishes that are already vegan or can be ordered vegan if you talk to the staff. Some of the staff is incredibly kind and sweet, others less though. The view outside is lovely so I recommend sitting outside! During winter café niklot is worth visitting as well, but sometimes you need to book a table since there are less seats :)

Pros: adds to the castle experience, amazing view, delicious ice cream

Cons: could offer vegan meals more clearly, would like vegan cakes
