Healthy food - Edit

If you happen to be in the area of Cuppage Plaza on Orchard Road you might want to go to Nutrihub Cafe. Don't make a big detour to go especially to this place I would say. The food is good (brown rice set is definitely a healthy choice) but nothing special. The fresh vegetabel juices are nice too. The athmosphere is unpersonal as the location is in the basement of an old shopping center. The owners have tried to make it more attractive by placing large umbrellas and plants. The staff is friendly and helpfull but not very fast (since everything is cooked fresh on the spot).

Pros: healthy choice

Cons: No athmosphere

Fruity Nori Sushi @ NutriHub - Edit

There is beauty in every different type of cuisines. With the combination of ideas of different cuisines, it evolved into something NEW.

Nutrihub has a speciality - Fruity Nori Sushi @ S$5 (to me) is a bold approach of marrying the Japanese Cuisine with Raw Food Cuisine and yet the result was fantastic.

Just like me, I guess many would automatic distaste RAW FOOD as it just does not sound exciting. It took me some time to venture out to taste it and I discovered that there are some of the raw food dishes which are well accepted by the mass. You just need to start off with the correct type of RAW FOOD and then the horizon is widened.

Like the Fruity Nori Sushi with the right combination of fruit, veggies and nori sheet plus natural flavouring, it is just FABULOUS! This was recommended to me by a friend.

I was given the option - Avocado or Passion fruit for my Fruity Nori Sushi. I picked Passion Fruit, a little tangy and sweet, paired real well with different type of root vegetable shreds. Wrapped with nori sheet to look like a sushi and also lending its flavour and making this robust. So, raw salad can delicious and eaten in a different fun way too.

The Furity Nori Sushi comes with shredded veggies salad served on a piece of lettuce leave with cherry tomatoes with a light and refreshing clear "sauce". Just that, I find it too little "sauce".

This is a wonderful good healthy snack for afternoon tea break which is very popular among the ladies and those who want the beneficial plant substances (phytochemcials), minerals, vitamins, dietary fibre from veggies and fruit.

Dissapointed - Edit

i found this cafe by chance. Wanted to go to some other food stall around Orchard Road with my family, but couldn't find the place that was in my memory.
Cuppage Plaza is not so 'well known'. It is behind of OG orchard, near Centrepoint. One can see the umbrella of the cafe at Basement 2, writen 'vegan' (or vegetarian, can really remember now) and 'organic' from Level one.
4 of us, we ordered two organic brown rice, some kind of specialty or set meal, a sandwich and a fried bee hoon. Price was around SGD 6-8 each. The fried bee hoon looked and tasted rather the same as those one can find at any vegetarian stall at food court. The sandwich took more than 15 minutes to prepare, at least 25 minutes. It was very salty and looked different from what we saw from the picture in the menu. The organic set brown rice with gado-gado tasted good though.
Overall, the portions were rather small, the food was common and uninspiring, we did not have any sense of satisfactions at all after the meal.

Pros: Location

Cons: Food, Portion, Price

Solid choice on Orchard Road - Edit

For all the vegetarian food in Singapore, there are not a ton of good options on Orchard Road, the main shopping drag. We found ourselves one day looking through various food courts when we spotted, in a basement of one mall, an umbrella with the words "Vegan Food" on it. Intrigued, we descended, and enjoyed a solid meal. The menu is fairly basic - curry pies, noodle soups, rice plates, but everything we had was good, if unspectacular. It's not a place I would go out of the way for, but for Orchard Road, it was a good stop. I would tend to give this 3.5 stars, but since that's not available, I'll err on the side of generosity with 4.

Pros: healthy, friendly staff

Cons: few options, somewhat bland food
