Reasonably priced good food with huge menu - Edit
I had the massaman curry and vegan pancakes (which were deep fried vegetable fritters). Both were really good and the waitress was very friendly. Would definitely recommend here!

Lucky that this place was a 2 min walk from where we stayed! Ate there twice and really enjoyed it. Authentic, cheap, lovely staff and amazing food! We had the glass noodle salad, pancakes (more fritters), duck and chicken stir fry with rice. Excellent!

Good authentic Thai restaurant - Edit
A lot of Thai dishes completely vegan and great experience. We tried fried chicken, fried meatballs, catfish salad and pork with kefir lime leaves. Everything was amazing and nice staff.

We came here for dinner and were welcomed with water and cups filled with ice, perfect for the hot night. The outdoor space is cooled with fans, which seemed to do the job. The ambience, does leave something to be desired - stuff liked all over the place - but this is fairly typical of small jay restaurants. We chose spring rolls, chicken and rice and a tasty noodle soup or noodles in gravy sauce depending on your read. Both the mains were surprisingly good given the modest price (฿55), particularly the noodles, which were rich in favour. The spring rolls, which arrived after the mains, cut into mini-bites. They were fine if nothing remarkable and came with a sweet sauce I couldn’t identify as there was not much flat out other than the sweetness. We planned to come back and try other dishes from the fairly lengthy menu, but for various reasons this didn’t happen. I would recommend the restaurant, particularly if you’re on a budget: #Veganuary

Super authentic, delicious and cheap - Edit
We ate there 3 times and every time tried different things. My favourite is pad Thai and chicken with basil, or duck with basil. But the spicy fried rice was delicious and same goes for dumplings and pancakes. The curry was very good as well. I was not a big fan of the streaky pork with ginger, but I guess some might like it. You also get a small soup/broth as starter for free.

Nong Jay is a cute family-run restaurant that serves not only tourists but also Thais. The place has character, also functioning for day care for the family youth. You fell like you’re in someone’s home.
Read moreThe menu is moderate in size and it’s all vegetarian. I ordered a “catfish” spicy salad and a mock meat dish with veggies. I enjoyed the latter more. The “catfish” was too crunchy for my taste. The servers are very friendly and do their best to help with their limited English.

Confusing but worth it - Edit
We got here and knew it’d be confusing based on other reviews but it was CONFUSING. There wasn’t anyone really there, the one person in the restaurant ignored us. We left, and then decided to give it another go, and were seated by the man in the kitchen.

The menu had price, but after we were done the guy who was serving us said 200 baht which is extremely worth it in my opinion

The staff is nice but hardly speaks English. In the end they could assure us that everything is indeed vegan. Even if it says catfish, it just describes the kind of fake meat they are using. Food is absolutely delicious. The setting isn’t the most glamorous, but for the prices it’s appropriate

As I read the reviews here this was big on my list. As I live to far away and didn't want to spend 1000 baht just to go to eat there I was happy about the option to order via weserve. The menue is just in Thai,but the friendly staff from the hotel helped me as I knew from the menue here what I want.

It's crazy close to real chicken.Deep deep fried and for sure the unhealthies food I had here so far,but worth trying if you have cravigs for mock meat. Never had anything that close to chicken and such a crunchiness. The cucumber salad was awesome,the fried rice ok,wouldn't need "sausage"in there.
Would have loved to try the Massaman curry from the english menue,the guy from the hotel couldn't find it in the app.
I would order other stuff to try again. #Veganuary

Depends on your taste. This place focuses mostly on meat substitutes rather than loads of veggies. I like it just fine and when in Phuket it is my evening meal place to go. The large family who runs the place are very friendly and many local people eat there. Update - Still open. I haven't eaten there in years but just letting you know its open haha. I cook at home in evenings but if I needed to go eat outside at night that would be my place! Super friendly owner

Best Mock fried chicken I’ve ever had! Sweet family - Edit
We frequent this restaurant almost daily. Their food is so good and they have a lot of delicious Thai dishes. Everything is vegan! Their protein substitutes and mock meats are impressively good. The family that runs the restaurant is so sweet and they all work to maintain the restaurant. They always try to communicate despite not speaking a lot of English. Aside from the delicious food, the prices are so good!!! We often get 4-5 plates for around 180฿.

My personal fave dishes: Thai fried rice, Chinese Kale dish, Massaman curry, Vegetable Pancakes and my all time favorite is their mock fried chicken.
It’s not the most aesthetic place and if western standards of cleanliness are a big deal for you, it might be a little surprising. It’s not a fancy bougie restaurant so don’t expect that😄it’s a typical small Thai restaurant. We absolutely love it!

I've eaten here many times and it's very nice and fantastic prices. The first time I had ginger with mock meat chicken, it was so good that pretty much every time I returned I would have the ginger dish with either chicken or one of the other mock meats such as duck.

My girlfriend almost always has the green curry which is one of her favourites. there is a coconut chicken soup that we had when we got a takeaway delivery from there, It's not on the menu but we also asked for it when in the restaurant because it was so nice.
They also have very nice dumplings.
