Great options and proper chippy! - Edit
We were so impressed with the options here, which now includes vegan fish fillets, chick'n strips, a pie and a vegan sausage. We had the fish and chicken and it was delicious!!

Best chippy in Seahouses - Edit
We holiday in Northumberland regularly and Neptune’s has been a family favourite for years. We’re all shades of veggie/vegan so great to have somewhere that uses veg oil. Mushy peas are lovely! They’ve also started offering several vegan options including vegan fish - can confirm it is delicious!

Lots of vegan options! - Edit
Menu now includes several vegan options (pie, sausage, “fish”, “chicken” and a veggie burger). I asked if they had non-dairy milk for tea. They didn’t have any, so I ordered a black coffee, but a staff member went out to get some and the milk appeared! I then ordered a tea and they deducted the price of the coffee from the bill without me asking :). Food was excellent and our non-vegan companions agreed.

Claims 4 items on the veggie/vegan menu, but the burger on the main section is also vegan (falafel based). Staff politely and friendly, food served quickly and hot. Big thumbs up from me and the good lady. Oh, and decent chips.

Pros: Plenty of veggie/vegan choice., Conveniently situated.
Cons: Curry sauce a bit standard.

Wow - Edit
Wow, what a pleasant surprise to get no fish and chips in a Seahouse’s chippy. Expected to be pottering around looking for a chippy that fried their chips separately to the fish and got this massive bonus. Generous portions and very reasonably priced

A welcome and tasty find - Edit
This was just what the doctor ordered after a weekend yomping across Northumbrian hills and countryside. I had to ask the nice cashier what vegan options were available on a rainy Sunday evening and he kindly gave me plenty to choose from, but I went for the classic Vish and Chips. Overall I was pretty pleased with my choice and sat eating whilst watching the RNLI lifeboat come ashore. Doesn’t get much more seaside than that…

Vegan fish and chips! - Edit
Of course ordered fish and chips. The fish tastes astonishingly like fish, the size of the fish portion is considerably smaller than the real one, though. A vegan burger is also offered. The service is very fast and friendly, but it feels a bit like in a fast-food restaurant. If you order for take-away, the boxes are made of cardboard, bot plastic or styrofoam.

Vegans and Vegetarians can enjoy classic fish and chips here! - Edit
I stopped here for lunch in Seahouses, Northumberland, having heard this place offers a selection of vegan main options clearly marked on the vegan section of the menu and was very pleased that this was true! The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, in a central location and very spacious. It wasn’t very busy when I arrived, unreserved and we were promptly seated and served. I chose the battered vegan fish fillets with chips and was happily impressed with my first time having fish and chips. It was yummy! And I reckon I very good go at vegan fish and chips (I am not normally into fake meat type things) I would definitely recommend this lucky find for people who want to enjoy classic (and very good) fish and chips by the sea!

A vegan surprise! - Edit
Just like SoyDumplings, I rocked up expecting to just get chips and mushy peas and MAYBE some onion rings if they had some, but was really surprised to see that they have a whole vegan section on the menu!
Read moreSorry, no photos, but I opted for the vegan fish and I tell you what, it's far better than a lot of supermarket fish-type offerings. It had a reasonably flaky texture to it, a pleasant not-too-fake-fishy taste and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Really tasty chips too.
If I had one (minor) grumble it's that they didn't have any plant milk options for a cup of tea, which I thought was a shame since they'd gone to the trouble of sourcing vegan food options.
Overall really impressed and would happily go back next time I'm in Seahouses.
Pros: Small but well considered vegan menu, Nice clean restaurant, Excellent service with really friendly staff
Cons: No plant milk options for tea/coffee

We got the vegan sausage and chips with mushy peas and shared some curry sauce.

Nice chips! - Edit
Nice vegan chips, could do with more vegan options, but pleased to see there was a pie for those who don't have to avoid soy. Friendly servers, and a shout out to the nice lady who served us when we ate in, she was really lovely with all the kids she was serving, a real credit to the place.

Pie and chips by the sea - Edit
Really enjoyed the steak pie and chips I had from here, which I ate at the nearby seating area overlooking the beautiful sea views. The chips were perfectly cooked, while the pie was delicious. Staff were friendly and I'll definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

You must have a chip butty here - Edit
When visiting seahouses, it’s a must to have chips! Unfortunately there isn’t many places for vegans, but Neptune’s fry’s their chips in vegetable oil. Not sure if they fry the fish in the same fryer as the chips, but this isn’t a big deal for us.

The chips were cooked to my liking and were yum 🤤 and the mushy peas are how I remember them.

Nice chips - fried in vegetable oil - Edit
Went to another fish and chip restaurant in Seahouses beforehand to see their choices but they fried in beef dripping. Neptune’s fry in vegetable oil so got chips from here.
