Busy pizzeria situated just off the city centre. We arrived at the peak hour on a saturday evening without a reservation. After having decided that we had no chance of a table we were walking out when we were called back in by a friendly waiter whom we assumed to be the owner who found us a nice table for two. Upon inquiring the friendly waiter informed us that he had just one vegan option: pizza Marina. Despite the crowd service was promt and we were quickly served. Pizza crust was excellent, but the topping was probably the worst I have ever had: a thick layer of tomato sauce with a few leaves basilicum. Out of personal experience I know it isn’t hard to make a vegan pizza and for a professional Italian chef this should be child’s play with ingredients like mushrooms, olives, red peppers, artichokes and more at hand. After the meal we ordered two more drinks and said we would also like to have coffee. But the waitress failed to return, so after 20 minutes we paid a left with mixed feelings: initial warm welcome having been damped by bad food and lousy service. I hope that non vegans have a better experiecd.
Delicious pizza like in Italy (even better than some places there) and friendly service.
At the moment only take away but the Maaskade is close. They can also make pizza with grilled vegetables and aceto or one with funghi. (Request in advanced by whatsapp)
