Very rude member of staff - Edit

Very rude Middle aged woman. Working alongside a young girl. My neice was at the counter and as I approached asked what she would like she just said not sure I don’t want anything. The woman immediately asked her leave I’m like really she was talking to me and my neice has social anxiety and autistic. I said to the woman she didn’t say anything and she preceded to argue with me. I’m in total shock. I’m a social worker and if this is how she treats people who can’t even talk much or not at all this totally unacceptable and she shouldn’t work with the general public. Ruined the last of my day in beautiful Polperro. We went to another shop further up the street so nice and she said
It isn’t the first time this has happened.

If she reads this change your job you nasty woman. Get out Polperro and go back up North .. can’t believe you treat disabilities with contempt. Disgusting she didn’t even say anything .. your the reason why disabled people find it hard to integrate in society

I'm sorry that you felt unhappy with your visit, but your account doesn't reflect my experience at all. 
 
As a customer, I have always found the lady who works here to be extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. 
On my visits, she has gone out of her way to assist customers and create a welcoming atmosphere. 
 
I also find it a little unusual that this review has been posted on a vegan-food listing, as the complaint appears to be about a personal interaction rather than the vegan food, service quality, or accessibility of the business itself. 
 
As someone who is deaf, I can only speak from my own experience, but I have always been treated with kindness and patience here. In fact, the lady has even used sign language to help communicate with me, which I greatly appreciated. 
 
I would also point out that telling someone to "go back up North" is a concerning remark in itself. It says far more about the person making the comment than it does about the member of staff being criticised. 
 
Everyone's experience can differ, but based on my own visits, I have found the lady to be helpful, respectful, and willing to support customers with different communication needs 
(That said can we please stop using 'middle aged' like an insult, females already have many standards that we have to adhere to, aging should not be one of them) 
 
For the vegans, the choice here is fantastic and the vegan sausage roll is my go-to when feeling peckish.

Nice pasty - Edit

Having scoped out Polperro on Happy Cow we decided to go to Nanny's as they seemed to have good reviews and a good selection. Unfortunately they did not have any vegan steak Pasties so went for a Sri Lankan curry pasty which was tasty. Nicely cooked. Friendly but not the most cheerful service. Would go back though.

Pros: Selection, was more options than most places, Tasty and well cooked

Great Vegan Options - Edit

We stayed in Polperro last week and it was great to have some tasty vegan options. The sausage rolls were lovely, with really flaky pastry. I also had a Vibe choc salted caramel ice cream, refreshing to find it free from soya! And I couldn't resist a vegetable pasty, brought it home to continue the holiday vibe and it didn't disappoint. Thank you for making my week even better!

Rude, condescending, sarcastic and insulting staff that clearly don't want to serve customers. - Edit

We took a short jaunt to Polperro to walk the dogs and buy icecreams for our children (6 & 9).
We stopped a Nanna Ducks, I wish we hadn't.
We waited some.considerable time to be served icecream. We assumed that the staff were busy with customers. Eventually I looked and found the staff watching and laughing at videos on social media.
I turned around to my wife and said let's leave. They clearly don't want to serve.customers.
A lady followed us and said that she was here now and stated in her most sarcastic and condescending voice that she was entitled to a break (fair enough) and that she had been very busy. Whe had been in Polpero a few hours and had passed Nanny Ducks a few times, it was very quiet each time and the woman in question was talking to what was obviously her friend in the art shop across the road. It was a quiet day in Polperro.
The break is fair enough ( despite it clearly being an of season quiet day) but the sarcasm and condescending tone was far from okay and caused me to change my mind and say to this staff member to, "please forget it, we will go elsewhere." She replied with "Good", (followed by an insult). Then, "Enjoy your holiday." in her best sarcastic and condescending tone. She obviously has contempt for the tourists that the industry she is in runs on. But I'm local.
We all turned and left. My wife had to stop to look after some issue with the dogs, I turned back and I found the Nanny Ducks member of staff giving us the bird for the benefit and entertainment of her friend in the art shop across the narrow lane. Up to this point I had not been rude, I'm affraid I reciprocated the gesture to her, I was a little annoyed by this woman at this point.
I will not go to Nanny Ducks again, I would and will encourage no-one else to.

Great for snack - Edit

Grabbed some vegan pasties and a sausage roll. They were delicious and reasonably priced. They also offer vegan ice cream.

Amazing pasty! - Edit

Visited polperro whilst on holiday, walked past this shop and noticed vegan steak pasty and sausage roll! Both were delcious ! The vegan pasty was amazing, buttery pastry, a lovely meaty peppery filling.

On our way out of Polperro we stopped and had some vegan mint choc chip ice cream! They had multiple flavours, including caramel and raspberry ripple. Also the staff mentioned the chocolate tipped cone was accidentally vegan, very lovely staff. 100% recommend.
