Good but overpriced - Edit
I really wanted to love this place, located a few minutes from where I work, but it turned out to be just ok, not extraordinary.
Read moreI have a Vitamix at home and I prefer my home creations. The single flavour a day and high price for it didn't help either.
In any case, this was a summer pop-up and has now closed down.
Pros: wholefoods, healthy, fun
Cons: way too expensive, not enough choice, dull flavours

Fancy and healthy ice cream!!!!!??? - Edit
Sounds like an unlikely concept but Nanabar have if nothing else proved it can be done. They opened three days ago and may only be around for the 3 months they have guaranteed with the landlord. They do one flavour "nice cream" meal per day and everyday a different flavour and toppings. So even if I hadn't thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry shortbread flavour (not sure where the shortbread went!) they do on Mondays I have promised myself to return on a Thursday to try the "rocky road". I haven't had a "rocky road" anything since I went sugar free so that'll be a treat. Nanabar use all organic ingredients and are sugar free, they use maple syrup as a sweetener when the banana base isn't enough.
Read moreThis place is a bit too "hip" for my grumpy punk rock tastes (the music was loud and bad) and the product is not cheap. To be fair though given the organic ingredients and the probably astronomical rent they must pay in Shoreditch the price is bearable. This is not an alternative Swedish Glace experience, this is real fruit made into a naturally fruity cold dessert with bits and stuff added.
I recommend you give it a try and for anyone interested in different ice creams to the usual it's a must.
I hope to try all the different flavours before their time is up.
Today we went and had the Rocky Road - Thursday's treat! and very nice it was too! twas rather filling and as bananaery as it was chocolaty! All good looking forward to the next flavour.

Indulgent but healthy treat! - Edit
I tried the pecan pie nicecream which was deliciously indulgent. Since they do just one flavour a day, and it changes every day of the week, I will definitely back to try some other flavours. The icrecream comes with plenty of toppings too.

Delicious and Healthy Nice Cream - Edit
NANABAR is a unique concept: serving a daily changing main flavour banana ice cream (they call "Nice Cream") with optional extra "upgrades" such as granola, and nut butters. Their space is lovely and so are the owners, you can stay and chat or take away. So far I've tried "The Brazilian" mango infused ice cream served with brazil nuts, and "Strawberry Shortcake", yeah you guessed it, strawberry flavoured. The portions are generous, the Nice Cream is very tasty and its refined sugar free.
