Lots of options - Edit
Lots of vegan options. Besides vegan versions of classic dishes (e.g. vegan onion bhaji, vegan vegetable biryani, vegan dosa masala and plant-based chick‘n butter masala) they cater streetfood specials like vegan pani puri. The very friendly and helpful staff was able to accomodate us as a group of nine without a reservation for an early dinner, which I highly appreciate.

Ups and downs - Edit
We had the sharing platter which was good, apart from the beetroot balls it is all deep fried.
Read moreThe food was very slow to arrive, but they did come and explain this. It was a busy Saturday night, so I didn't mind.
I had the surti matka undhiyu for main, it had a nice flavour, but was too oily for me. Shame there's no vegan dhal, I'd prefer this to fake meat.
Paying the bill was painful, I had to go and request and then they didn't come to take payment either. In contrast, the table next to us paid quickly and were then asked again!
Pros: All vegetarian is always good!

Veggie/vegan menu. Loads of vegan options clearly labelled. Had the love to share: beetroot kebabs were incredible. Mains were delicious too. Great service.

Exceptional - Edit
An outstanding array of vegetarian and vegan interpretations of Indian cuisine. The Chick'n Butter Masala and Chick'n Achaari are excellent and full of flavour. The atmosphere and staff were very friendly and made sure to constantly check in whilst balancing bringing over several different orders to the table.

Superb - Edit
Lovely fun atmosphere and enthusiastic and efficient team. The food was outstanding. Most delicious use of fake meat I have ever experienced. We had a fake-lamb curry and tandoori chick’n. Also a healthy salad of chopped veg, pumpkin seeds and almonds. Mocktails were super-refreshing.

Goed dat ze alleen maar vegetarisch en vegan serveren. Prijs is ook netjes.

Ordered online. Plenty of vegan options. Food was ready really quickly and it was delicious. Even my non vegetarian family loved it. Have eaten in too and the service is excellent.

Amazing food! - Edit
Delicious authentic food. So much flavour, and always eat too much as we want to try lots. Default is vegetarian but most can be vegan. Spice level clearly marked. Our favourite place to take friends/family when they visit.

Really very good food but felt a bit expensive (that’s Cambridge!). It was really nice to be able to get a vegan Indian dessert and lassi.

Vegan options at Namaste. - Edit
Upon arrival at our booking time, we were shown to our seats by a friendly member of the team. Our order was taken, and our food arrived roughly 15-20 minutes after having our poppadoms. The bill came to 58 quid, which I think is steep for what we had. The food, however, can't be faulted.

The food is delicious and top quality! My non-vegan friends were impressed. Take away delivery is well packed and good portions.

Very nice dinner - Edit
I ordered online, the food came on time. I took a vegetable biryani medley that I could add to be made vegan, and a vegan butter Naan. It was really good, although the Chana massala from the medley was too spicy for my usual taste. Maybe it could have been been indicated as very spicy! The price are correct.

Abundance of choice! - Edit
Great food, lovely atmosphere. It is so exciting as a vegan to have a naan or a korma as an option. My favourite is their chilli cauliflower dish; it is absolutely phenomenal!

Best Indian in Cambridge - Edit
Very friendly staff, great food with so many vegan options including vegan naan breads. I also attended one of their cookery schools which was fun and informative, essentially regarding the ethos behind their cooking and use of ingredients.

Extensive, clearly marked vegan options - Edit
Lots of vegan options, clearly marked on the menu. We enjoyed everything we ordered though careful as the spice level is significant even for veterans of spicy food 😅 four stars only because the bill was quite expensive and we did not appreciate the 12.5% service charge added to the bill. We understand you can ask them to take it off but that’s just awkward. There were only 2 of us so it’s not like we were a large group. That is done in poor taste and would strongly recommend they stop doing that. Let the customer decide what tip to leave, particularly if it is discretionary.

Not so good - Edit
Used Namaste for a take away thinking that being vegetarian it will have good vegan options, but the quality was disappointed, we had much better Indian food from places in Cambridge that weren't vegetarian/vegan. Needless to say we won't use them again.

Not brilliant for one's non-vegetarian friends - Edit
The naturally vegan or veggie food was fine, but a common feeling among other diners was that the 'fake' food wasn't really that great. So, depends who's going...

Tasty food - Edit
The food was excellent, we tried onion bhajis (very crispy), a very good masala dosa, veg biriyani, makhani dhal (excellent) and bombay aloo. The service was quick and attentive.
Read moreOn the down side it was expensive - we were charged £7.30 for two glasses of sparkling water! Also there were additional charges for pickles and chutney to accompany the pappadams which I have never seen before.
Overall though, it was a lovely meal and will probably go back again.

Vegan naan - Edit
