Serves meat, vegan options available. 西京区嵐山西一川町1-8 is located a few minutes walk from Togetsukyo bridge, against the backdrop of Mt. Arashiyama. It's convenient for those using the Arashiyama Hankyu station, which is around the corner. Offers healthy Japanese lunch set plates and sweets, as well as a dinner menu. There is a local vegetable-based lunch set as well as a curry, a pasta and a taco rice set, all of which are vegan. The dinner set allows you to choose a main dish from a list, on which there are vegan options. The miso soup is vegan. There is an English menu, and the staff understand what "vegan ryori" is. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From 3-5pm it's cafe only. Las orders 7pm. Open Mon 10:30am-8:00pm, Wed-Sun 10:30am-8:00pm.

Pleasant Cafe, Lots of Vegan Options - Edit
My husband and I came here for lunch while in Arashiyama and really enjoyed it! The staff were friendly and were kind enough to let me borrow a cable to charge my camera while there. Some items on the menu include chicken, and as the kitchen is open into the seating area you might be uncomfortable with the smell of cooking meat. The vegan items we tried though were really nice, including the taco rice, curry, pound cake, and matcha cake. I'd go back if I was in the area again.

A lovely place with the best vegetariAn Japanese food I've had! Ordered the fried tofu dinner set and it was delicious. It came with miso soup, 3 vegetable sides and rice. The set also came with dessert and tea! Definitely a must go.
I suggest you eat at shigetsu for lunch and head to musubi for dinner :)
It's on the opposite side of the River (from the Raken arashiyama line). Totally worth the walk! :)
The Staff speak English and are oh so polite!

They only have one lunch vegan set to choose. Dinner there's more option. The set was super affordable and incredibly delicious. It's hard to find tasty vegan food in Japan, but this place is it! Must go!!
