Unexpected surprise in Isle of Bute - Edit
Many vegan delights. Music themed cafe selling instruments, albums. Jukebox. Been there for 15 years. Many staff looked after us well with table service. Keep up the great work.

Amazing g/f sourdough panini!! - Edit
Lovely atmosphere and amazing g/f sourdough panini! Good veggie savoury treats for kids too - e.g. sausage and bean toastie as well as options for fizzy drinks with real ingredients.

Nice veggie cafe - Edit
We stopped for soya lattes/mocha/hot choc and a panini/sandwiches. The staff were all lovely and friendly but a few annoyances such as, after asking which cakes are vegan, being offered salad cream ‘but it has egg in it’ and crisps on the side ‘they have milk in’... why not just have some vegan mayo and ready salted crisps? Maybe I’m being fussy! On a tiny island it’s great to have a veggie place at all :)
Read morePros: all veggie cafe , toilets, nice friendly vibe
Cons: no vegan mayo / crisps offered, no vegan ‘meat’ alternatives

Wonderful cafe - Edit
On a small place like the Isle of Bute to have a vegetarian cafe is AMAZING. Yes, that is the reason I chose Rothesay to visit for the day on my last day of annual leave from work, but it's been on my mental list of food places to check out since 2012! In July this year I finally got around to it.
Read moreThey have lots of roll/sandwich/panini fillings to choose from - they have dairy and dairyfree cheese, Linda McCartney sausages (vegan) and Quorn bacon (not vegan). They had haggis & cranberry as a filling option and when I asked for haggis and cheeze it wasn't a problem. They had 4 vegan cakes: apple strudel, turkish delight and chocolate, ginger cake, and one other which I've forgotten. I think it was date + walnut (was something which I felt was less interesting than the other options).
They have soya milk for hot drinks and with my latte I got a lotus biscuit. They also had soup (mushroom). I probably would have gone back for an early dinner if they had had quiche or some hot food which was more of a meal, but otherwise it was a great place. They have musical instruments for sale (I think also CDs and vinyl, too) and they have a jukebox!
Pros: Many vegan options, Good service
