vegan callaloo and ackee mains

Tasty, authentic Caribbean food in a permanent (wooden) stall inside the covered Gravesend Borough Market, established in 1268. Located next to the statue of Queen Victoria. We got the two vegan mains available on the menu: ackee with mixed peppers and callaloo with mixed veg, both over rice and beans and with sides of mixed veg (cabbage, etc.). The total price including three cans of ginger beer was very reasonable (about £20). The proprietor (herself lactose intolerant) gave us one of the vegan pockets, filled with peas and curry, to try as well, gratis. Very kind of her.
