The cheese platter, the fondue and the cup-o-noodles ramen were obviously made with care and beautifully presented. The cheese platter could have used one or two more slices of bread or some crackers in order to savor every bite of what was on the plate - including the homemade honey and raspberry compote. Of course, if you rather taste the cheeses completely on their own (which is also wonderful), then this is no problem at all. The vegetables on the fondue plate had a nice flavor with and without the cheese (especially the carrots), however something was wrong with the celery. It was so fibrous that we couldn't bite through it or even cut through it with a knife. Similarly, the corn in the ramen was incredibly tasty on its own, but we couldn't bite through the large piece of bok choy (and being in a soup bowl, we couldn't try using a knife). Service from Ruby was super attentive and professional. Ruby was the highlight of our evening, from explaining the menu to sharing personal stories. Because so much time goes into the cheesemaking - and because the cost reflects that - dining at Mr. & Mrs. Watson is ideal for special occasions and celebrations.

The perfect place to be - Edit
Really good food, and the nicest people! Also good for people with coeliacs / gluten intolerance, with a clearly labeled menu and several options. All items on the menu are cruelty-free, and they donate to several good causes. Even the wall paint is pro-environmental - whats not to like!

I waited for almost t wo years to get their cheese in my hands. I was craving for it. When I thought about Amsterdam I thought about this place! The cheese was super tasty. Unfortunately some flavors were out of stock so I had the small cheese plate. Another reason to going back to Amsterdam!

Read moreWe would end a great trip with a visit to Mr. & Mrs Watson.
A good walk from the city center to the small restaurant in the Oost area.
We were welcomed right away and directed to our table.
We had a very hard time deciding what to order, because it all sounded really delicious.
The choice fell on “Bread & Spread” as a starter and “Prosecco Fondue” and “Orzotto” for sharing as main courses.
Mr. & Mrs. Watson is known for their cheeses, for which they have also won several awards, which is exactly why the choice was on the chosen dishes.
Fondue was something that belonged to the 80s and 90s, but this particular combination made us order this one with a certain skepticism. And wauw it tasted good. Would say though we are glad we chose to split a serving as it really filling.
We would also like to highlight the gravad carrots that came with the starter - it was a fantastic experience!
All in all, a really good evening in very cozy surroundings - another experience we would not have been without 💚💚💚
NOTE: REMEMBER to reserve a table - it’s almost impossible to get a table without!

They understand vegan cheese. The taste is just amazing, not the typical chemical taste of vegan cheese. We had the cheese platter and brownie. The way they display the food is great, the atmosphere is comfy, and the food is just amazing. The staff is kind and very helpful. You pay a bit more than the regular places, but the is also better than the regular places. You should visit this restaurant.

Very good range of vegan food. Expensive but worth the price. The vegan cheeses are very good and the fondue with seasonal vegetables was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful - overall a treat and a very pleasant evening. The lunch time menu looks good too!

Read moreI love the little sandwich with faux salmon that is served early to mid days. It’s carrot filét in liquid smoke, with a spread créme cheese and capris. I’m only sad this isn’t served after a certain time during the day and that I went some times and missed it.
The burger is very nice, the fries a bit greasy but alright. There is Fritz kola! A lovely little place, all in all, and 10min walking distance to Oosterpark.
The staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu.
Highly recommended!

Read moreWe ordered the small cheese platter to start which was amazing, the cheeses were so more-ish (once tasted, I wish we’d gotten the larger one).
Then for main: the teriyaki Italian and jalapeño burger, both on gluten free bread. The teriyaki Italian was chosen as it was hyped from a previous review we’d read, luckily it did not disappoint!
And last but not least to finish, the sticky toffee cake which was sweet but not too much (we shared and very glad we did because it was huge!)

We had the jalapeño and Italian burgers and the brownie… AMAZING! The crispy polenta inside the Italian burger was so delicious and our favourite was definitely the brownie. I wish they sold their dulce de leche because it is what really makes the brownie shine in my opinion. I can’t wait to go back, I want to try everything on their menu little by little 😍

I went there with my family. Vegan Vega and omnivore. I did expect to restaurant to be bigger.. Service was good. The cheese was very good. Although ofcourse it is the concept, it would be nice to have some simple child friendly dishes.. The (dinner) dishes that are served now are all quite explicit in taste. Of you just have to order fries. My advice: add a simple vegan pizza or pasta pomodori for the kids.
