I came in with the possibility of having curry but when I asked if it was or could be made vegan, I was unfortunately told it could not be made vegan. Our server mentioned the curry already came with shrimp sauce.
Read moreI decided to have an eggplant entree with fried tofu. For my preference, I would not have it fried. I felt it was over cooked.
To drink I ordered Thai iced tea with coconut milk. It had a bit of smoky taste to it.
For dessert I had the mango sticky rice which is vegan the way it comes. It was way too sweet for my preference.

Next time try A Taste of Thai - on south Moana, they’ll make all their curry vegan no fish sauce.

Good Food - Edit
Moo Dang has a large dining room so it's easy to dine-in and the artwork/posters give personality and energy to the place. It's not my favorite go-to thai food in Reno, I don't love the tom yum soup or the pad thai, what makes Thai food delicious is the balance of flavors and they're just off to me, but it's good food regardless

Ohhh yeah - Edit
This place it’s great! My daughter and I came to Reno for Spring Break and ate here twice because the first time was so good. They seem to be very accommodating for subbing things out to make them vegan. I got the Panang Curry and it was so flavorful. Also, they have these really cool compostable straws I appreciate. There’s also really cool Thai posters everywhere and the service is fantastic. I want to try other places in town but this place is so good! My only criticism is I wish things were labeled on the menu and there’s a vegan tax for getting coconut cream in the Thai iced coffee/tea.

Twice in two days - Edit
I came here on a Friday… and again the next day. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The food is super yum and the staff are super knowledgeable and accommodating of vegan dishes. This is the only place I’ve found in Reno so far that offers a vegan Thai iced tea as well!

Best vegan food in town!! - Edit
We LOVE the Moo Dang! My favorite is the Bang Kae Chow Mein, with tofu, vegan (no fish sauce), substitute the chow mein noodles for thin or wide rice noodles.
Read moreThey have delicious food with amazing customer service; the wait staff know us by name and remember our order, despite only eating there once a month! Truly incredible place with great portions relative to price. Food is cooked fast, staff will quickly fix any errors, and staff know how to veganize many dishes.

Informal dining with good food - Edit
I like that moo dang is very chill, the atmosphere is laid back which is nice compared to the more upscale dining experiences i've had at other thai places in Reno. Most of the servers know what can be made/modified to be vegan. You MUST specify that you want it vegan though because even if you get pad thai with tofu and no eggs they might still you fish sauce. Good place though, I recommend it. #Veganuary

Voted Best Vegan Thai Salad - Edit
We ordered takeout since they were nearing closing time. Looking over their street cart ordering station, I noticed signs of them placing high on some Thai vegan salad competitions. Wait, what?! This is a thing? Best believe that we ordered one for ourselves.
Read moreOur dinner started with their Vegan Nom Tok Salad - it was sticky, spicy, fresh, and delicious. I can see why this ranked highly as one of the best salads in town. Next, their Tom Ka with Tofu was also a huge hit. Lots of flavors without needing to use fish sauce - and just the right consistency with their coconut milk usage. Finally, we had their Fried Tofu Pad See-Ew and it was phenomenal. The flat rice noodles had that charred wok taste and they knew how to sue their light and dark soy sauces to deliver a fantastic dish. Only thing I wish they'd done was use Chinese broccoli but that's a minor thing in an otherwise amazing dish.
Most items here were able to be veganized, so definitely ask!
Pros: Excellent Thai salads, Quick service
