BEST RESTAURANT IN VIETNAM

Ohhhh my oh my, I love this place!!! Super friendly staff and amazing food in good portions, reasonable prices-- they even gave our dessert for free for a few nights. My boyfriend and I love to go to different restaurants but when we were in Hoi An we ate here for 4 or 5 nights. After eating here for 3 we agreed we had to try other restaurants as well, but nothing could compare to Minh Hien! So we came back ♥️

Out of this world food

Best Vietnamese I’ve had throughout Vietnam so far. Staff were super friendly and dishes aren’t very expensive, definitely worth it. We ordered rice, steam rice with sauteed veggies and tofu, papaya salad, banana pancakes, fried wontons and tofu clay pot, all came to around 250 000vnd.

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Easy to find , Friendly staff and cleanly restaurant

Cons: Some servings are small and need two serves.

Just not worth it

I came here with quite high expectations because of all the amazing reviews. I was really disappointed though. Staff seemed a bit rude, and also some of the food tasted like it had dirt in it 😳 besides that it was really average, but quite expensive. You also have to buy rice on the side if you want that, which is fair, but I don’t think it makes sense you don’t get an entire meal, when prices are so high. Place had many options though!

local tasty food served with a smile

Tried a variety of dishes during our stay in Hoi an. Extensive menu with lots of options, good coffee, cheap beer and great smoothie.

Everything can be veganised without a problem.

Highlights were:
Stuffed tofu in banana leaf, banh Xeo, special cao Lau and the banh my with the mushroom sauce.

Probably the best feast I’ve ever had. Partner and I were ravenous after skipping lunch, got a 2 person set menu and the Hoi An specialties sampler. The food kept coming and everything was just fantastic!! Also, they serve beer which is a massive

Impressive

This place rates up there with the best vego places we’ve come across around Vietnam in our short week long experience, with very friendly attentive service, imaginative tasty eats and drinks (alcoholic snd non) and a great vibe. The prices were very reasonable, particularly the ‘fresh beer’ at a cheap equivalent of 30c AUD! per glass. Seemingly very popular Vegan cooking classes conducted from the premises.

Pros: Imaginative vegan food, Great value for money, Friendly service

AMAZING

We ate lunch here two days in a row, it was AMAZING, their Pho and Tofu in a banana leaf are incredible. We ended up doing private one on one cooking lesson with one of the owners and he taught us how to make three dishes, we still follow his recipe two years later. The family that work here are so lovely and really cook with their soul. Food is honestly INCREDIBLE. I tell all our friends they have to eat and do a cooking class here!!! Do yourself a favour and eat here!

Pros: DELICIOUS, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE

Greasy but Good

Enjoyed trying some of the popular local dishes vegan style. Tasty food, but greasy (perhaps just what I ordered).

Average food

Food ok, but small portions and a bit pricey. We had eggplant in tamarin sauce and fried rice with papaya salad and tofu both small and costs us 80000.
Drinks and shakes also pricey.

Pretty good

I had the 1 person set meal, which included fried spring rolls, wontons, white rose, and Cao Lau. I was excited that I got to try two local specialities (white rose and Cao Lau). The white rose was really good—it reminded me of a weird mix between nian gao and auricula mushrooms. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Cao Lau, but I’m not sure if it’s the fault of this restaurants technique or whether I just don’t like the dish overall. The fried spring rolls were really good.
I generally enjoyed my food here, but I like some fo the other outlets in Hoi An better—they are cheaper, simpler, and I just liked the flavors there a bit better. Here, I felt a bit heavy after the meal, and I feel that it was more oily than at other places.

Best eggplant dishes

We had lunch here a couple of times and we loved it! The setting is nice and the menu offers many vegan options. I loved the eggplant in banana leaf .
It's not super super cheap but worth every cents.

Pros: Menu and setting

Cons: The staff wasn't always too smiley to be honest.

Amazing

I would highly recommend this restaurant, both locations are awesome. I tried a lot of meals cause I went two times. I would recommend to taste the local specialties such as white rose, the papaya or banana blossom salad and the tofu cooked in banana leaf. Try to have a combo tasting meal for two! High quality and super tasty and fresh. Service was really good.

Delicious food

We shared menu 1 with local food specialities and liked it a lot. We could try four different dishes and all were yummy. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly. Would go there again.

A pleasant restaurant with vegan options

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very pleasant. The food is indeed Vietnamese but with a twist. Upgraded flavors to familiar dishes. They also have cooking classes in place.

Pros: הם מבינים מה משמעות המילה טבעוני ויודעים להמליץ על

Cons: יחסית יקר למה שמוצאים בדרך כלל. כיוון שהיא מכוונת

DELICIOUS FOOD

Everything we had was delicious: the white roses (filled with mushroom), the wonton soup, and the "sweet soup with snow fungus and aloe Vera" as a dessert.
Some people from the staff were not really helpful nor smiling, that's why I don't rate them 5 stars, but I still recommend to give it a go! They also offer cooking classes (15$) and cooking classes tours (24$) which both sound interesting

Pros: food, especially the white roses, cute place

Popular and with good reason.

Ate here twice during my stay in Hoi An. Open my last night I chose to spend out on the set menu for 1 which is 99,000d. It included lovely crispy spring roles, fried wanton, a veggie version of White Rose, and a Noodle dish. A lot to eat but worth it. The restaurant also offer cooking courses - something I would love to do.

Pros: Great ambience - surrounded by books!, Good price and good selection of dishes made from

Cons: None!

A must in Hoi An!

We had varied service the 4 times we ate here, but the food makes up for it. If you’re only in Hoi An for a few days make sure you go- huge menu and delish food! They have a smaller and quieter restaurant (Minh Hien 2) with the same menu which is just as good!

unmemorable food

Had wonton soup, wontons, oyster mushrooms and spring rolls. The latter was probably the best, otherwise very bland food.

Pros: wifi

Cons: poor-tasting food, expensive comp.
