A MUST in Richmond or surrounding area ! - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable this bakeshop was along with an extensive selection of different types of vegan goodies. They also have a mini grocery area that has prepackaged sandwiches, burritos, tiramisus, been to a lot of vegan bakeries throughout the US and I can honestly say Minglewood has the best tasting Coffee cakes I’ve had (especially for the price ).
Read moreI got the blueberry coffee cake, the cinnamon sugar coffee cake, the Broccoli Mac parcel and a s’mores cookie. They all were good, but the coffee cakes are a MUST everytime (especially the Blueberry)!
If you can, try to get here as early as possible because things sell out quick !

So, so impressed with this little shop. Best croissant I’ve ever had, tons of options. The sliders, milkshakes, and baked goods were next level. Always a rotating selection with staples always available. Nice little area to buy novelties as well. Cute vibes, friendly staff, always patient with me when I take too long deciding (talking myself out of buying everything) what to get. Love it here!

We made a pIt stop at Minglewood Bakery on our road trip from Florida to NJ and wow are we happy we did! So many choices - cake, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, candy bars, savory options and more, all in the cutest shop! Everything was delicious and we even left with some goodies for the road including stickers and a tshirt :-)

I came here to get pastries for a bachelorette picnic. The cupcakes were delicious! My favorite was the carrot cake flavor. Also loved the coffee cake and blueberry scones. I am the only vegan in the group, and all of my non vegan friends enjoyed them! I also got a bac’n mac and cheese pastry that I LOVED. Will absolutely be back. The vibes here are excellent!

I went here while visiting town to get some coffee cake . It was delicious! On a whim I decided to get a whole cake (vanilla/vanilla) for my dad’s birthday. It was hands down the BEST cake I’ve had! Moist dense cake with fluffy icing that was not overly sugary like most icings. I usually scrape off most icing from cakes but this one I could have eaten straight out of the piping bag. The omnis that ate it with me LOVED it! My dad said it was the best cake he’s ever had!

This bakery has so many options from sweet to savory and everything is not only super tasty, but looks really yummy. They also have gluten free options which is awesome for me as I have a gluten sensitivity. I had the gluten free almond scone and it was perfection with my hazelnut oat milk latte. I haven’t had a scone in ages and it was so good! I also had the gluten free brownie and it was awesome as well. The space is also set up well, with tables for dine in and it looks really nice and welcoming inside. The staff is also super friendly. I can’t wait to go back!

Read moreI've been here many times and everything has always been delicious, from the triple chocolate cake to the coconut cream pie. The people here are so friendly and kind. There's even a vegan-food-only microwave where you can warm up your pastry to your heart's delight! I took advantage of the microwave to heat up a savory vegan buffalo chicken and mac and cheese stuffed pastry and it was DELICIOUS.
They even sell some locally-made vegan jams and pickles, as well as soy curls (kind of hard to find around Richmond!), vegan candy, and their house-made vegan chicken salad (yummy!), barbecue chicken, deviled "veggs," and General Tso's chicken.
They sometimes have special fundraiser events for local animal sanctuaries. They really are vegan for the animals!
There are gluten-free options for cookies and cupcakes, too, for gluten-free friends.
Grab a pastry and a coffee and enjoy it on their front porch, or pick up a selection of treats to bring to a gathering. Enjoy!

Best Vegan baked goods in RVA - Edit
I’m not sure why Minglewood has received anything less than 5 stars from every review. I have loved every single item I have purchased from there. My favorites include: the espresso milkshake, dessert cups, biscoff tiramisu, and the maple bacun scones. As someone who just recently moved away, I make a concerted effort to spend as much time there as possible while in town.

We were very excited to try bakery based on the reviews we read on several sites. We ordered four different items and they were all of poor quality. One tasted so bad it was discarded after two bites, having both an unpleasant flavor and texture. The others were not as bad, but tended to have no real flavor other than being excessively sweet. Ultimately we did not finish any of the items, instead throwing them away half-eaten. Perhaps they were having a bad day, but we do not recommend MiInglewood Bake shop.

The fact that they’re a fully vegan bakery at all is amazing. But they didn’t heat up any of the pastries so they were cold which made it worse. And also our drinks came out like just barely warm which meant they got cold really fast. I’ve had better vegan baked goods in other cities.

Just an excellent, excellent place. All vegan, focused on sweet treats and coffee, but have a nice daily selection of savory treats. Super friend folks. Shop has a retail section with groceries and take-home foods. They also have vegan soft-serve and milkshakes! 100% recommend--if in Richmond, you should stop in!
