Busy but worth it

It's on the 11th floor of the jr itsen complex so out the way of commuters. It was busy when we arrived at they took our name and how many for but we didn't have too long to wait. Really popular. Staff very friendly and really good command of English. Our waitress new exactly what vegan meant and went over the dishes I could have. She also asked if I had any allergies. Food came pretty quickly and I had a salad instead of the onion pancake as that has egg in it.
Portions really good size and price wise just a little over the average.
Very clean restaurant, tasty food and great staff so def recommend.

Uses BEEF stock in almost every menu !!! Don’t go

The sign says “we have a vegetarian menu” but they use Korean Beef stock!! They should not put that sign!!

Super limited option and not worth the price

I went there and didn’t see the vegetarian menu... ( I didn’t saw the photo on HappyCow then otherwise I would have shown it to them and ask about it)

There was only two options for vegetarian on the menu, a vegetable bimbimbap and a stone-bowl bimbimbap. I ordered the latter which cost about 1200 yen and a Korean alcohol drink.

I was not really satisfied with what I got, especially considering the money I had to pay. The staff was friendly though. But they didn’t show me any vegetarian menu or vegetarian pancake as I saw in the photos posted by other reviewers. During my eating I heard a young man around me saying he was a vegetarian, and the waitress also pointed out that two bimbimbap for him. So I think probably they have changed the menu and cut the vegetarian stuff.

I wouldn’t say it’s a vegetarian/vegan friendly place near Kyoto station and wouldn’t recommend it. You got better options around the Kyoto station area. Period.

Pros: Accept UnionPay and Alipay.

Cons: Expensive but tastes so-so, No vegetarian menu or signs, Very very limited option

Burning rice

We had regular bibimbap in a Stone Pott. The taste was good but the Stone was too hot. I had to stir for 3 minutes that my meal dont get burned.
Also portions are realy small. The ones in Seoul are way better.

great bibimbap, helpful staff

Visited because of Happy Cow reviews. The staff showed me what on the menu was vegetarian. Then they asked if egg was ok, and we established that I wanted to meat, no egg, no dairy. They then pointed out my options--I could order a few of the vegetarian bibimbaps and hold the egg.
I ordered the vegetable bibimbap, and they reiterated again that they'd put no egg in it. Then, they brought me a tofu salad instead of the vegetable pancake that normally would have come with the meal (my companion received the pancake) because of egg in the pancake.
The staff, even with very limited English, took great care in making sure I ate delicious vegan food.
Highly recommended!

Pros: helpful staff, delicious food

Tastes OK, quite busy

Food came very quickly. Felt like we had to leave soon after finishing though as they were busy, so there wasn't long to sit and digest.

Green onion pancake was nice and crispy. Bibimbap wasn't super interesting - red pepper sauce helped, but that was quite hot.
Soup and salad were OK (part of the Vege bibimbap set).

Good Korean food

Good Korean food that is very tasty, and the portions are big (got the bibimbap and a green onion pancake from the veg menu shared between two people). The food did not come at the same time, so it was a bit confusing knowing what was what and belonged to what dish. Was asked to pay right after we started eating because of closing time, but we didn’t mind. (arrived 1h10m before closing time, so not unexpected). All in all, I would absolutely recommend eating here!

great for dinner

Serves meat. Ask for the vegan menu. There are some other items from the regular menu that could be vegan as well such as tofu dishes. It is located on 11th floor of isetan department store on Kyoto station. Nice environment and friendly staff. Price seemed reasonable.
