Delicious, mostly vegan it seems - Edit
The cashier said nothing has meat or eggs (but didn’t mention dairy). Menu is expansive, mapo tofu is incredible (and very spicy!)

Local Taiwanese veg food - Edit
Really great wide choices with Taiwan delicacies such as Ru Ruo fan! Will definitely visit again. Disappointed when the staff told me dine in is until 8.30pm only even though operating hour is until 9.30pm and there are seats available😒staff was apologetic but I feel that they just wanna end work on time so they came out with this Lolol. Cus online and nowhere stated such regulations.

Don’t ask me why I assume they wanna end work. 1 staff say I could get in and seat, immediately the guy behind say “no cannot.” And kept shaking his head

Delish and fast - Edit
The menu was a bit hard to figure out, but I was happy they told me the dish I wanted to order was very spicy. So I took another one and it was delicious!

Read moreThe dumplings are great as well. They come in 4 different colors with 4 different fillings. There’s another option with one fillings they were also great.
It can be a bit crowdy, but the said we can order online and they reserve a table. But we haven’t check that.

Very delicious vegan food - Edit
I shared two main dishes and a portion of stinky tofu here and it was very delicious. The staff was very friendly and there is a small seating area inside.

Great for a mid day break! - Edit
I stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed by the variety of different dishes and sides available! I literally couldn’t decide what to choose haha. This particular shop is quite small and there aren’t a lot of tables to go around so it may be difficult to accommodate a large group, so be mindful about that when coming here!

Not our Personal taste but good - Edit
The food was good and inexpensive, but to be honest, it didn't quite suit our taste. There were a few spices that we didn't like, but that's just our personal preference. The food was freshly prepared and very reasonably priced.

Traditional, cheap and you get what you expect! - Edit
Really generous portion sizes—so make sure you don’t over order like we did! I’ll be honest, it wasn’t to my particular taste but I really enjoyed the experience. Food is a bit too oily too, but the experience is worth trying for the price. There is a LOT of tofu!

Probably had that one dish I wouldn't like - Edit
It was my first day in Taipei and a friend dared me to try stinky tofu. When I saw the spicy stinky tofu soup on the menu (they have a menu with pictures and english translation beneath), my time had come! I'm not somebody who really eats spicy food- for me it was moderate and made me sniffle and sweat a bit. The broth was good but let me say- I learned over the next days I don't like stinky tofu... I'm sure the other dishes are fine. When I asked something, the used a translation app- really appreciate it!

Underrated restaurant near the station - you should go - Edit
Cheap, good portions and tasty. I went twice and ordered the spicy tofu bento box first time (a little too spicy for me but still delicious) and the black bean meal the other time. I also had a few dumplings from my friends dumplings soup. They were all delicious, my favourite restaurant in Taipei! It should definitely have more than the 14 reviews it currently has.

Good price and authentic - Edit
We had two bibimbap dishes. One was a bit spicy and the other one was not. The spicy one, I think it was the chili ma double sauce bibimbap was good and the sauce was also good. The monkey mushroom vegetable bibimbap was a bit too watery for me, but I am not used to taiwanese food.

Gorgeous mushroom noodle soup - Edit
Perfectly chewy fresh noodles, bean curds seasoned with herbs, tofu chunks, soy bits and the most meaty lion’s mane mushroom chunks in a delicately seasoned soup. Generous portions and not oily at all. Such an amazing dish! The seating is VERY crowded with multiple customers sharing single tables and having to squeeze behind people to get to the tables at the back. They only have 5 tiny tables and people have to wait at the door. Service is quick though and the menu has English translations.

Really cheap, authentic food - Edit
Went for lunch and had mapo tofu and monkey mushroom bibimbap. It was quite busy, we waited maybe 10 min for a seat. You have to order first, which we did not know, but the staff noticed and told us what to do. We paid 220 for both, which is a really good deal on my opinion. Portions were more on the smaller side, but enough for a quick lunch. Both were tasty. Really good value for your money.

My go-to restaurant - Edit
Good choices for a good price; dishes around 100, larger size for another ~30.
Read moreStinky tofu wasn't my favorite but I had to try it, I usually get Yi noodles.
Find utensils in a fridge-looking thing in the back, toppings are available too.
Small space but sharing tables is normal. (The Jinxi St location is much larger)
Also there's a frequent customer card, something like buy 10 get 1 free.
Last hour or so is takeout only.

Miao Guayin was my introduction to stinky tofu. I got the Mala Tofu Stinky Noodle Soup. Stinky tofu has a unique strong flavor and soup came with a flavorful broth with some heat, mushrooms and vegetables.

Tasty food, open somewhat late - Edit
Pretty tasty dishes. I especially liked the "sumptuous mushroom noodle" dish, which had a little of everything. (Mine was with rice though as I showed up right before closing and they didn't have any noodles left.)
