Open Tue-Thu 17:00-22:00, Fri 11:30-22:30, Sat 10:00-22:30, Sun 10:00-22:00. Kitchen closes at 9.30pm Tue-Thur and 10pm Fri-Sun. Open days vary, so call ahead.

The food we ordered was tasty (especially the aubergine kumpir). However, the menu is small and for that it lacks on creativity in my opinion. Fo example for mixed fruit drinks only one out of 6 drinks on the menu was without ginger.

The restaurant is pleasant. Food was nice overall, especially the schnitzel. They have only non alcoholic drinks and our French friends didn't like their non alcoholic red wine. Great vegan ice cream with original flavours like snickers.

Tried the soy Schnitzel with potato salad and to be honest it was a bit lame. Not bad, but did not enjoy eating very much, was just nothing special. Also the potato salad was lacking in flavour. Portion size was very decent though, I had q super full plate! And service was friendly and quick (Saturday afternoon, so not super busy time but still nearly all table was taken)

Max Pett has been recommended to me by a friend. The food was decent but have had better, the dessert on the other hand was very nice. But just like a few others have commented, it took a while to be served as the place was packed, and the portion sizes were - well let's say a little bit more value for money would have been nice.

I think they will encounter some serious issues in a few years as the value for money is ridiculous and there are plenty of alternatives now.

Had the Schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarren. After reading all the good reviews on the Schnitzel my hopes were really high. Unfortunately I didn’t really like it. It was weirdly moist/watery on the inside, which caused the down part of the Schnitzel to be very soaked through. The fries however were great and the Kaiserschmarren tasted heavenly.

Max Pet is a sit-down type restaurant with personal service offering veganized local Bavarian food as well as classics such as burgers (with patties from Beyond Meat), bowls, soups and more.
Read moreWe ordered the vegan schnitzel with fries and the “cheesy” local pasta. Both came with a small but tasty salad.
The schnitzel was definitely the best-imitated version we have tasted to date. The texture of the “meat” (soya) was perfect and so was the level of frying and salt-level.
It’s not cheap (the schnitzel costs 16 EUR) but for the quality of food and service plus general ambience, we think it was worth it.
For dessert, we had the apple fritters. The portion was huge so sharing is recommended (unless, of course, you wish to leave the restaurant having to loosen your belt!) and very satisfying in a sugary-and-greasy-but-still-classy type of way.

We had our first dinner in Munich here and were very pleased. We had broccoli spetzl and gnocchi, both really nice, although the sauce on gnocchis is very sharp and can be too distinctive for some. We also had non-alkoholic beer, lager and dunkell, and they were simply delicious.

Staff lied to me, I got no food - Edit
When I arrived, the waiter said the kitchen was closed. She explained to me that the kitchen closes at 9 pm (not at 9:30 as currently listed on HappyCow).
Read moreThen she directly went to a couple that was already seated and took their order, explaining that their kitchen is still open, but that they have a backlog of (allegedly) almost one hour and that's why she claimed the kitchen was closed.
Then I looked at my watch, it was even 5 minutes before 9. (But that's not my main complaint.)
The waiter could've explained that there's a longer waiting time. But choosing to lie to guests instead is an absolute no go. Trust is very important, especially if someone prepares your food - hence this was my first an my last visit.

I am very sorry, but after 1 December 2016 I had to rethink. I removed Max Pett from my favourites and had to correct my review. Here's why:

Last December we went there to have a nice dinner for two on the occasion of my wife's birthday. The restaurant was full, we had a reservation and were seated. We ordered - my wife only a main dish, me a starter and a main dish. The starter came in time, it was as good as expected. Then we waited for the main dish. And waited. And waited. After half an hour I asked the waiter (!) what was going on, he apologized and after another 15 minutes our meal was served. At this point my wife was already very hungry and angry. Birthday mood gone. She had a kind of a roasted pumpkin with a filling. The pumpkin was rather soft, no traces of roast or grill and the filling tasted like vegetable stock with a very dominant celery. My wife was very disappointed and left.
The waiter offered me to pay only one dish and an ice cream (in December!) for my wife, who was waiting outside in the cold, because she couldn't stand it anymore. This was a nice gesture from the waiter, but too late.
I remember that we made a similiar experience there some years ago in the summer. The reason for the delay in both cases were some conflicts in the kitchen.

I really enjoyed visiting Max Pett! 😍 The food is amazingly deliscious, I had the dish of the day: chucrut, a beyond meat sausage, salad and rosemary potatoes. Also the cake afterwards was very yummy. I will definitely return to try another dish! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made the guests feel very welcomed. The prices are high but I think it's fine since Munich is generally pricy and the portions are quite big. :)
