Update: I adjusted my review from two to four stars. Last night, we decided to give Mario’s another chance. When we called to order we were on hold for 8 minutes and had to hang up and call back. We decided to pick up because god only knows what the delivery service is like. We got the pizza and it was awesome. Best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. So if you’re not dealing with any of the people that work here and you only eat the pizza, it’s pretty good. Service still sucks. I was so excited to come here with my family for my husband’s birthday so everyone could have pizza and I could actually eat some too! The only reason this has any stars is because I got to eat a below average doughy Stromboli. There was one waitress for like 9 tables. This poor girl was so overwhelmed. We ordered unsweetened iced teas and they came sweetened. We told her and she told us they don’t have sweet tea. Then she came back and told us they gave us the wrong tea and brought the unsweetened teas. Huh? Then we asked if we could BYO to which she replied yes. Except they didn’t have wine glasses which I wish we knew and we wouldn’t have brought in the wine. My mom wanted pizza with mushrooms, but she wanted fresh mushrooms and asked if the mushrooms were fresh and not canned. A pizza came out with clearly canned mushrooms. Oh and the ran out of salads. So the salad came out after our pizza which she did take off the bill. It was overall a really disorganized experience that we suffered through so I could have vegan Stromboli

Have tried many of the vegan options at Marios! If you are looking for a good vegan pizza, you will not be disappointed. The Sicilian margarita pizza is our favorite. Owner Ernesto is a proud vegan who is now 2 years eating a plant based diet. His love for Veganism and its health befits shines through in the delicious food!! Sure do wish we could give a 5 star rating (Happy cow reserves 5 stars for fully vegan and vegetarian restaurants) , because this place is definitely deserving of it!!

I’m impressed with the amount of vegan options they have! Based on the reviews, I tried the vegan margherita pizza and the cheese fries, and both were amazing. They seem proud to be vegan friendly! Definitely going to order more options again. Can’t wait to try the stromboli.

Worth the trip to the bay side - Edit
I tried the cheese pizza one night and the vegan cheese on a second trip. Both were a pizza lovers delight. The gnocchi with marinara was cooked to perfection, not mushy. Tangy marinara pleased all 4 of my friends who tried this dish.

They have a separate Vegan menu with lots of great sounding option, we definitely plan to go back to try more things. This was the first time we have went there & they made us feel welcome, like we were part of the neighborhood & everyone knows each other.

I cannot day enough good words about Mario’s! The owner was so nice and seemed to truly care about providing healthful, vegan options for his customers. All the vegan items are conveniently on their own menu, so there is no question whether or not the items are safe for vegans! The food is delicious and I can’t wait to go back.

I've been visiting Ocean City for about 20 years, but this is my first year as a vegan! Loved this place. They have a full vegan menu upon request. My friend and I got the garlic bread and the margherita pizza. The garlic bread was just so-so but we really enjoyed the pizza! Looks like they just use daiya, but with the sauce and olive oil combo it really had some great flavor! Staff was friendly and service was quick. Will definitely be returning next year.

There aren't many vegan friendly places in Ocean City so finding Mario's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant was a big surprise. Mario's has a completely separate vegan menu that is very extensive. The owner came to our table and talked to us about his niece who has shellfish allergy so he takes the separation of vegan and non-vegan foods very seriously. My husband and I tried the minestrone soup, pasta primavera with red sauce, and a vegetable strombolli with Daiya cheese. It was so good we are going back for dinner tonight! Since this restaurant serves meat Happy Cow will only let me rate 4 stars but the food and owner get 5 stars from

Ask for the vegan menu when you visit; they now have tons of different options. All of their food is great, but the margherita pizza is my favorite. I've even spoken to one of the owners and he was super accommodating and enthusiastic about new vegan customers.

My boyfriend took me to Mario's for a vegan meal for my birthday. We ordered the vegan cheese fries with daiya and the vegan pizza. Not only was it a beautiful looking pizza but it tasted amazing! The owner came out to talk to us and truly took pride in his cooking and suiting his menu for vegan/vegetarian people. I highly recommend this location. They had a full menu for those that don't have diet restrictions also.

Mario's makes real NY style pizza and they offer vegan cheese. Mario himself came out and talked with us and he was very excited about the vegan cheese offering, as he gets a lot of customers who request it. The pizza was excellent - our friend had traditional pizza with real cheese and sausage, and we had veggie pizza with vegan cheese and we all loved it.

Loved their vegan pizza! I got a vegan medium with broccoli and spinach. They were all very friendly and know exactly what vegans want. I just told them I was ordering a vegan pizza and they didn't bat an eye! It was delicious- crispy crust, fresh vegetables, daiya cheese. I meant to add a picture but we ate it so fast that I forgot to take one! They also will tell you what sauces are vegan if you want pasta, and they can add vegan cheese to sandwhiches. their minestrone soup is also vegan. At this point in time medium vegan pizzas are 17.95, and a large is 19.95- it's worth it!

They offer vegan cheese pizza and will add veggie toppings of your choosing. As I was waiting for my pie the staff mentioned that they have many vegan pasta offerings as well. The staff was very friendly.
