In the city center. Closed during low season, but the owner is here anyway - it is good to pay visit so that she knows that there is interest. Look for the sign outside the restaurant that says, "Treat animals kindly by not eating them." Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Treat AnimalsKindly By Not Eating Them restaurant - Edit
Atmospheric seating on second floor overlooking a neat alley with antique shops. Owner helpful and passionate about vegetarianism. Food was good. We had okra dish which was very good. They used to be owners of similar shop in Bagan which was sold and is now the Moon restaurant.

Nice place - Edit
Noodle soup was quite big portion or I wasn't that hungry. It was nice, tasty and fresh. Spring rolls were also good. It comes 10 pieces but really small size. Accept noodle soup other dishes seem not big. My friend ordered eggplant dish but it wasn't enough for him. Price was okay.

Was very happy with our dishes— great flavor. We got the green long bean dish and tofu curry— both excellent. Would definitely visit again. The ladies working there were very nice and even served us right at 9pm even though they were closed.

Überbewertet - Edit
Das Lokal an sich ist schön und das Personal freundlich, aber das Essen an sich ist m.E. nicht sonderlich gut. In vielen Shan Lokalen gibt es besseres zu einem Viertel des Preises.

Not a clue why this is rated so high. The price point is horrible considering what else you can find in the city. A tomato salad is 4000k, tomatoes... Ordered a tofu curry at 4000k and it was tomato and coconut milk soup swimming with what I can only assume is msg. Just baffled to be honest. Maybe a couple years ago this place was good, but for the price, quality and quantity this place is just flat out over rated. If you have options, skip it.

Yummy Veggie Food With Lots of Options - Edit
Great little vegetarian restaurant tucked away down a side street in Mandalay. Quick service, lots of choice and there was an English speaking member of staff who understood the term Vegan. We had 2 potato, tamarind and coconut milk curries, 2 rice, 2 chapatis and a plate of poppadoms. This all came to 13,000 Kyat (approx £6.50). Food was super yummy, came out hot and all at the same time. Would deffo head here if you’re looking for some great vegan/veggie food.

Amazing green bean salad ,-) - Edit
We went there for lunch on our first day in Mandalay. Friendly and helpful staff. We don’t like onions, and they prepared everything without it. Good portions for a reasonable price. Everything was delicious, but we highly recommend the green bean salad. Besides, we liked that the vegetables in the curry weren’t cooked to death.

Good veggie place - Edit
Had a nice late lunch here. We really enjoyed the pumpkin curry and the stir fried tofu. Most items are vegan but double check with the staff. The place was clean and tidy and up on a rooftop down a quiet street. There is also good WiFi here.

Pleasantly Surprised - Edit
I think the chef must change regularly, because the reviews of this place are very inconsistent. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. 5,000 kyat for Veggie-Tofu Coconut Curry, White Rice, and a large Chapati. The portion of curry was big and I was very full at the end of the meal. The curry was easily the best I’ve had in Myanmar (Ive had better Indian dishes).

Pros: Vegan options, Good portion sizes, Decent flavors

All vegan options so that’s a pro, but the curries were bland like bad German vegetable soup (and that’s pretty bland!) Pretty good salads though

Great dinner! - Edit
We had an amazing tea leaf salad and carrot salad. The vegetable and potato curry with coconut milk was also tasty. Great to have this vegetarian restaurant in Mandalay! The only weird thing was all those Jesus pictures in the restaurant. Aren’t Asians mostly Buddhists?! Whatever😁after dinner we went to the end of the street and crossed the street to the north, where we made a little walk along the water front. Very nice evening :-)

Super greasy and tasteless food, do not recommend - Edit
Finding a place to eat in Mandalay is hard. We went for the best rates restaurant on happycow, but were really disappointed. I had the curry which was super greasy and not tasty at all. Worst dish so far on my 2-month trip in Asia. My gf had the lentil soup which was at least edible, but small portions.

great food with a good price! - Edit
We have been here during all our stay in Mandalay. Close to the downtown. Excellent food, great spice, several vegan options, the waiter speaks great English. We tried fried vegetables rice - “fried” means prepared with a bit of oil and garlic. Very good. Chapati is very good also, lentil dhal. Pumpkin curry can be made vegan, with coconut milk... highly recommended! :)

Pricey and insincere owner. - Edit
We ordered a simple vegetable curry dish with rice for two person. The dish is simple but tasty. Our only gripe is the price is somewhat expensive by local standards. Marie Min is owned by the same non-vegetarian/vegan restaurant owner located right opposite.
Read moreDespite being the only vegan/vegetarian restaurant for miles in Mandalay, we still couldn't get the bad taste out of our mouth from the fact that the owner essentially tried to con us into believing that we needed to pay 20,000 Kyats for a 'tag' (double the price for a rental Chinese underbone motorcycle) just to ride out of Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin some 67km away.
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Insincere owner.
