Mana-va From Heaven - Edit
Whenever I make the decision to head to somewhere on The Palm, I make the assumption, rightly or wrongly, that it is going to be superb. Perhaps it could be argued that this bias could affect my perceptions of a place’s true worth, but if you’re in any doubt about the credentials of this place, I implore you to try it for yourself.
Read moreHoused within a magnificent setting, even for this bougie locale, the quality of the restaurant is evident the moment you step foot inside. The light-filled, airy dining space, complete with a waterfall feature (obviously), instantly put me at ease, and the glorious sight of the vast spread did nothing to shake my confidence that I was about to be very well sated.
Wasting little time, I raced to the buffet to comprehensively confirm my suspicions, and what I found was glorious vindication. Fantastic foul, insanely addictive hash browns, toothsome, nutty buckwheat, beautifully spiced aloo masala, and fresh, vibrant fattoush all graced my table in no time at all.
Still further, I revelled in tapenades, was taken aback by an intriguingly flavoured chia pudding, and supped of some very finely crafted oat lattes. Even simple combinations like the sautéed mushrooms with sweetcorn were delightful, and the sambar and idli were probably the best versions I’ve had of either.
Yet, none of these was my favourite dish of the day; this honour went to the soya yoghurt. As crazy as it sounds, the simple pleasure of having unfettered access to rather basic, though seldom seen in this setting, foodstuff was pure joy. The fact that I also liberally introduced lashings of maple syrup to it didn’t hurt its cause either.
Ranking very highly on my ever-expanding list of all-you-can-eat establishments, I can’t see any reason not to vehemently recommend it.
