Delicious - Edit
First off the staff are just lovely and the lady who owns the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. The Nasi lemak is definitely worth ordering as are the spare ribs. There's a wide range of vegan friendly products, as well as fresh guava available to buy as well.

Best vege in Melaka - Edit
Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. If you have difficulty choosing the best one, go for set menu which comes with a soup, curry, rice,... the juices are also very delicious. Polite and gentle people as well

Mock meats galore - Edit
Lunch visit, full house, a couple of groups meeting apparently, got the last table. Adjacent nice shop. Great selection, you won't be half way through the menu even if coming every day for a month. 10 percent service charge.

Lots to choose from - Edit
Lots of choices to choose from, even set meal for 1. However the soup that comes with the set doesn’t have much ingredients in it. Love the chendol too, serving is good for 2 pax.

Delicious food - Edit
Whilst a little more expensive, the food was incredible! The duck with plum sauce, sweet & sour chicken and the KFC were our favs. Super friendly staff.

Must-visit in Melaka - Edit
Tuck away in a quiet corner, this restaurant offers a fairly good variety of options despite quite a number of them are permanently cancelled out from the menu. The food is great and the ambience is lovely…

Quite nice but expensive - Edit
Having read all the 5 star reviews we were expecting to be blown away but unfortunately I think we went at the wrong time as it was just after Chinese New Year and there was a set menu with limited options. We ordered the Ceylon spinach with sesame which was very gelatinous, the veggie mutton Rendang which was nice, the battered mushrooms with a creamy sauce which was ridiculously sweet and the mock duck in plum sauce which was very nice but also very sweet and in the end it was just too much sugary things. It was probably the most expensive meal we have had in Malaysia but I have read from a previous review that the prices are bumped up at NY, in fact there weren’t even any prices on the menu when we ordered so we went in blind.

A vegetarian restaurant that offers a good range of Chinese style dishes for family gatherings. But the food is pricey and portions are small.

Huge selection and super delicious - Edit
They have an enormous menu with a lot of different dishes. Mainly Chinese but also lot of western style dishes. Everyone was very knowledgeable about vegan and other dietary restrictions and they have a lot of allium free dishes as well. During our stay we always came back because the food was so good. There are lot of mock meat options but if you don’t like them there is also a vast selection of veggie dishes. Drinks and teas are also super nice. Lot of lovely traditional herbal and flower teas and they are sweetened with stevia leaves so no sugar and all juices and drinks are fresh prepared and can be sugarfree. Our favorite were the curries, the Tom yum soup and the salted fish fried rice. The owners are super nice and they also function as a shop and you can buy herbal teas and some homemade pastes and sambals.

Epic Menu - Edit
Man Yuan Fang is across from the Melaka museums and features one of the largest menus you’ll see in town, offering mock meats (beef, chicken, pork, duck, lamb, fish, shrimp) and veggies galore.
Read moreI decided on the plum roast duck, Thai vegetables, lamb chops, and sour sop juice. The vegetables were well cooked and had a balanced flavor with a little heat. The roast duck had a glutinous texture with a partly sweet, tangy, savory sauce. These paired well with the rice. I was not as much of a fan of the gravy and heavily fried lamb chops.
I’d definitely return to try more.
Pros: Epic number of options, Great flavors
Cons: More for large families than solo travellers, Staff speaks limited English and Malay

Good veggie place in Melaka - Edit
Finding good vegan food in Melaka was somewhat of a challenge, but we were happy to eat at Man Yuan Fang! On the map it looks a bit out of the way, but in fact, it is only a short walk from the city square (Christ Church/Stadhuis) and even shorter from Quayside.
Read moreThe menu is very extensive and we were overwhelmed with all the choices, but because we are not keen on mock meats, we chose the "mixed vegie fried rice". The waiter asked us if we wanted egg or not, which shows that they are accustomed to vegans, which is so nice.
The meal was simple, but delicious, and it was good to eat something fresh and healthy. Service was friendly and while the restaurant is not exactly cosy or beautiful, it is a cool and relaxed place which provided relief from the midday heat.

Best vegan-friendly restaurant - Edit
By far the best restaurants in melaka that offers variety of vegan options. The waitress are very well-versed and always asks you if you need to exclude egg. They also have many cooking paste and vegetarian products for purchase. 100% recommended. My personal favourite is their Nasi Lemak with Vege KFC 💖

Great duck and noodles - Edit
Here I tried a few dishes. The noodles were amazing and also their duck in plum sauce. Their fish were plain, but OK. Would come back here again as they’ve got lots to choose from.

Loads of options and different types of mock meat. Portion were not that big compared to price. You are looking at RM11 and up. Would opt with the local cheaper veggie eateries for their tasty food and price.

Good choice close to town centre - Edit
Pleasantly surprised - had a really nice dinner here. After eating at a lot of veg buffet places in Malaysia, this was a nice change (food served hot!) although a little more expensive. There was a lot of faux meaty stuff which I’m not that into but had a tofu dish and a clay pot. I asked if I could have a dish without egg and they asked if we were vegan which was cool as they obviously understand

really good comfort food! - Edit
I know some may have issues with mock meats but I don’t so I wasn’t put off by the large amount they offered! Had the veggie KFC set after craving some western food and it was so good - crazy how similar the texture is of chicken! It was 15 RM for the set so a bit pricier than other places but that is actually only £2.90 for chicken, chips, coleslaw and hash browns. Will be back for the more Asian offerings.

Disturbing fake chicken - Edit
I tried one of the set meals and it was nice. The soup was the typical bean chinesse soup, and the fried chicken was kind of disturbing how the texture and flavour was really close to real chicken.

very disappointing - Edit
Went there after chinese New Year, so got a special menu with just a few dishes, that sounded all like unhealthy fast food. and the prices were more expensive than usually. We decided to take pizza, which was some of the worst ever!! Very, very small pizza with curryketchup instead of tomatosauce and super expensive! Maybe its better there on other days, but we will never go there again!

Spicy as hell! - Edit
This restaurant got us to the new dimension of food being spicy…
Read moreI got mock prawns with flakes, curry laksa and logan drink and my partner went for - I think - won ton soup and curry with mutton, chicken and fish and snake grass drink.
All was very, very tasty but the won ton soup was SO SPICY that for the minute I felt like getting stroke or something like that with tears in my eyes :) Couldn't speak and breathe. We DO EAT spicy food, lovin it but this… was straight from the hell! So think twice if You will see chili symbol in the menu or ask less spicy ;)
The cooking lady came to ask details, if im a vegan and so on - very nice and smiling, cheerful person.
