Good food but bring some time

The menu and the kitchen seem to be purely vegetarian. There is another restaurant next door, maybe there was a mix up or Mama‘s was out of groceries.
The food itself was good but also nothing special. There is an old lady cooking who is super nice! Unfortunately her English is not that great and she was very confused by our order and forgot a thing after a long wait. It’s a nice authentic experience but bring time especially in a larger group. The restaurant is best accessible from the train tracks where you can walk.

Scammers

We walked here for a long time, because the restaurant was marked as vegetarian in HappyCow. We immediately got served a non-vegetarian menu from a neighboring restaurant owned by the same family. It is a tourist scam, none of them are vegetarian, food is prepared in the same kitchen as meat.

Asked them to change listing to veg-options. They haven't done that in 50 days.

Amazing ultra-local food !

The vegetables are so tasty as they come from the opposite hills grown by the son of the owner, a really charming sri lankan woman! Juices are amazing and really cheap so you can take many of them 😁

Pros: Ultra local vegetables, Cheap, Beautiful flowery place
