Tastiest soups! - Edit
A great fully vegetarian place, and almost everything can be made vegan. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about veganism. Fantastic soups (I had the vegetable soup one day and the pumpkin soup the next day) and their a’la carte menu was always tasty

Nice flavours, nice restaurant and helpful staff - Edit
I took the daily menu and most of the items were quite nice. It was very reasonably priced too. We also got the traditional Croatian dessert which was vegan. I liked the restaurant and the walk there was lovey.

Plenty vegan options - Edit
We visited on our first night in Split and were very happy with our meal. We shared two mains (a pesto pasta and seitan with rice and grilled veg), sweet potato fries and two deserts. Everything was lovely; the service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced.

I ate here twice with my non-veg friends who all equally enjoyed the food here. They offer a special of soup, salad and a main for 80 kuna. The satein stake is delicious! The staff are lovely and they add a lot of detail to the food like seeds and sprouts. Highly recommended. Cash only!

We were not sure how much options this place would offer as it is listed as vegetarian only - but it was possible to have every meal vegan - and super tasteful! Go there if u are around and close by!!

Locale molto carino, fra i vicoletti del centro di Spalato. Personale gentile, menù semplice ma molto buono. Quasi tutto vegano e chiaramente segnalato, segnalate anche le opzioni gluten free. Tutto molto buono e genuino. Si paga solo in contanti con kunas, come un po' ovunque in Croazia.

Best vegan food I had in Europe - Edit
I wasn't sure how easy it would be to eat vegan in Croatia but I was very impressed with Makro Vega. It was a bit tricky to find through the narrow winding streets of Split but worth the 10 minute trek from the palace. I was staying in Brac for a week so bought 4 days worth of food here and loved every single dish. I was going to come back for the courses meal but our travel plans didn't allow for it. This was in 2015. Years later I still dream about this restaurant. Everything was excellent quality and inexpensive. I hope my future travels will bring me back one day.

Went to Makrovegan after reading such great reviews and it didn’t disappoint. My partner and I had the set menu, which for £8 is a bargain!! Great portion sizes and quick service. My partner had the vegan icecream which she says is the best she has ever had!! A must visit for vegans in Split!

Tucked in between the small streets of Split, Croatia, Makro Vega is a wonderful vegan (with vegetarian options) restaurant. Beautifully-designed in clean, modern fashion, the home-cooked style is fresh and tasty. The Croatian traditional dessert “bajadera” is delicious. Try the thali from the a la carte menu: basmati rice with turmeric, vegan paneer curry, pakora cauliflower, and bread with a light and delightful spread. The alcohol-free piña colada is a fun, sweet contrast to any dinner on the menu.

I really.enjoy eating at makrovega. I've been visiting since last year and always have the daily menu and I've never been disappointed. Simple good food. They replace cheese with tofu in the vegan option.

They have filtered water for 5 or 10 kuna. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of split in a quiet courtyard. Would highly recommend this place. They also have yummy smoothies!

Comemos o menu do dia que era: seitan crispy frito, millet com legumes, lentilhas castanhas estufadas, legumes estufados e salada mista. ( pode optar-se pela versão vegetariana ou vegan). Gostamos bastante. O serviço foi bom. Pedimos água e deram a escolher entre engarrafada e da torneira, excelente! Tinham várias sobremesas, provámos bolo de pêssego. Estava tudo bastante bom.

Le lieu réellement bien planqué, mais ce serait dommage de passer à côté. On peut choisir entre vegane et végétarien pour la plupart des plats, il y en a aussi sans Gluten. Les portions sont ultra généreuses, c'est difficile de finir le menu du jour.

It’s little hidden but worth searching. Came here on our last say in Split (sadly!) and went with the daily menu (soup salad main). Oh boy I was almost too full! My boyfriend took the seitan stake with sweet potato fries and was very satisfied as well. Amazing!

The takeaway wraps and sandwiches are super convenient for lunch. Sit down dinner options are more fancy. About thirty different options including cakes.

Upscale veggie restaurant - Edit
The interior indicated an upscale restaurant and so did the price. We tried the daily menu for HRK 80 per person. The soup was delicious, the main was good, but far from healthy since the portion was huge and certainly not macrobiotic as advertised. It consisted out of way too many ingredients - bulgur, seitan, tofu, grilled vegetable, tempura, cooked vegetable and raw vegetable salad. I felt overwhelmed by the size of the dish. Next time I'd choose something different, the menu was extensive and the chef knows how to cook so it's worth a try.

OK vegan food - Edit
In a place like Split, where every single restaurant serves only meat and fish, it's great that places like this exist at all. I just had a snack (salad and a kind of half calzone with tofu), perhaps not mind-blowing but definitely OK. Quite some vegan options to choose from, including cakes. The interior looked a little bit like a canteen but you can also sit outside. It's located just outside the pedestrian zone.

My boyfriend ordered vegetarian and I ordered vegan. I liked how he got parmensan and I got the alternative-vegan parmensan. The same with mayonaise.
The price was OK, we took the daily menu (soup + main course) and it was around 65kuna and we were full.

After not finding much vegan food elsewhere I went here three times. First I tried the daily menu (soup, salad, tempura veg, steamed veg, seitan and sauce, millet-pudding), which was great. Also sampled the vegan cake (changed slightly from one day to the next), also good, hemp burger (tasty and good value), seitan burrito and pizza slice (pizza was cold but could have asked them to heat it up), all good. Would have liked to come back and try more things!

Etwas versteckt, aber es lohnt sich. Eine gute Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten, aber auch Sojamilch und sogar vegane Kuchen. Wir hatten den veganen Apfelstrudel und den veganen Schokoladenkuchen. Beides sehr empfehlenswert! Unser Hund durfte auch rein, weil im Innenhof 2 Katzen waren. Tagesmenü mit Suppe und Salat 70 Kuna, also nicht mal 10 €. Hat sehr ansprechend ausgesehen 🙂

Good food and decent prices but we booked a table for 8pm and the service wasn't that great and the food seemed like it was just reheated. I think it would be better for lunch or afternoon tea. Just seemed like we weren't supposed to be there at that time.
