When in Rome... - Edit
... go to Madre Terra! This place is off the tourist track, with no English menu (tip: use Google Translate), which adds to its charm. As far as we could tell both times we visited we were the only non-Italians. It's fantastic to experience authentic Italian cuisine that is vegan.
Read moreFor gluten free people (as far as I could tell) all the pizzas are gluten free with rice, hemp, and buckwheat flour. I definitely preferred the buckwheat base.
The artichoke cream pizza (carciofi in Italian) was excellent, with an artichoke cream, artichokes, olives, and cashew cream.
The chocolate mousse dessert was amazing. It had praline and was just so creamy and moreish.
We also had the salad of the day, which was zucchini noodles with pesto and cherry tomatoes. So fresh and delicious!
The decor is really nice too so this place is perfect for date night.
Thanks Madre Terra for showing how amazing Italian vegan food can be!
