Tasty vegan gnocchi - Edit
They have a limited menu but everything was so tasty and well prepared. I also really liked the ambience for dinner. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Good for vegan and non vegan diners.

Interesting Options - Edit
I did not care for this place, but others seem to like it. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the drink menu is excellent.
Read moreThe house pickles on the mezze were not very good. They were too vinegary without being bright, and too much clove was used. There were some items that were almost inedible, like the large capers. The hummus was rather rustic although it was very tasty, and mushroom pate was very good without any complaints.
The mushroom gnocchi was very over spiced in such a way that implied it was seasoned to be served with cheese.
The panne cotta was frankly abysmal. It was made with agar agar, but far too much and very overcooked. It was bland enough to notice the agar agar. As you can see, it was also very small (a pro).
However, my husband loved every bite and finished it all. Take what you will from that.
Pros: Very nice staff who are happy to help, make things vegan, a good drink menu, and a great atmosphere with river patio seating
Cons: I was not partial to the food.

Meh - Edit
Vegan items are clearly identify on the menu
Read moreService is good
We had dinner on a Friday at 6pm it was super noisy inside
My mother had in of the non vegan flatbread and was happy about it
I took the hent of the : Hen of the Woods: vadouvan curry risotto and broccoli rabe shaved kohlrabi.
I really didn't expected the taste of the yellow sauce around the curry. I didn't like it at all.
However I like how they cooked the mushrooms

When they opened it was mostly vegan. After they added so much meat to menu I’ll pass. I deleted my review and pix.

A great place in the North Bay! - Edit
Petaluma has needed a top-notch and high quality plant-based restaurant and Luma is it! The concept is great, it is a plant-based restaurant that allows those carnivores out there to add to their entree choice as an option. With the small plate and craft cocktail approach this is an absolutely winning combination. The food is gourmet and made with fresh local produce, the menu changes daily. You do not need to ask if a dish is Vegan because it is! The owner also uses wonderful pasta made at the Mill Valley Pasta Company. I would rank Luma with Little Saint in St. Helena and Wildseed in SF. This will be our go to restaurant from now on.

Not 100% vegan but really great - Edit
I’m digging this new option in Petaluma! Great cocktail options and thoughtful menu with interesting ingredients. This is the kind of restaurant we’ve been waiting for—just wish I didn’t see my friends on the menu!😒The animal products are “add-on” protein options. Weird.
Read moreThere’s a strong focus on aesthetics in both the interior and food presentation which creates a really nice, tasteful experience. The food was colorful, tasty, fresh, and artisanal.
Growing up in a Japanese household, I love that they serve Mugicha (barley tea). Such a comforting way to end your meal!
Staff was abundantly friendly.
Pros: Great ambiance, Creative cocktails, Hearty & healthy
Cons: Animal products

Plant Based Goodness - Edit
Luma has a plant based menu with the option to add non-vegan proteins. I love the concept of everything starting out as vegan instead having to request to take off ingredients that you are ultimately paying for! A nice rounded menu with snacks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. We really enjoyed the yummy bread served with salsa verde and the potato and leek soup. The gnocchi served with sun chokes and chanterelle mushrooms was equally as good!
