Food ok but feels dated

The days of "wow, vegan food!" are over in Seoul. There are great new places all over the city. The menu options and food at this LH feel a bit dated now. While they are ok, they are long overdue for a refresh/upgrade to bring them into the 2020s. LH has a long history so hope they get some fresh ideas.

Pros: affordable, well intentioned meals

Cons: Celebrity worship wall is bit much!

Solid meals

I loved the variety of dishes offered. My sister got vegan fried chicken which I didn’t like much but she loved. I’ve tried the soft tofu soup which was to die for, fried rice which was good, ice cream and waffles which were crazy delicious, and bingsu which I didn’t like (very icy and not melt-in-your-mouth like bingsu should be). Seems like most of the meals offered are decent or delicious!

Pros: All vegan, Good variety, Delicious food

Cons: Far away from everything, Bingsu was very icy

Creamy ice cream and delicious options

I am in love with this restaurant.
They offer you water with slices of lemons inside.
What I really like that every Loving Hut offers different menus. This one had a lot of veganized korean dishes like Jjigae, fried chicken etc. But also burger with fries and more.

I went there at least two times, just because of the Ice cream. They had five flavours and I loved the chocolate, almond and coconut one (don't know the exact name anymore). You need to try the ice cream!

The only point which was annoying, was to reach the loving hut by bus. The bus connection wasnt' the best haha.

The very first time there was crazy: I ate the burger with fries, soy chicken and 5 scoop of ice cream by my own. (I ate 3 first, but because the texture of the ice cream was so nice, I ate two more xD). I was so full afterwards.

Pros: english speaking staff and very kind, sooooo amazing ice cream!, many vegan korean dishes

Cons: bit hard to reach

Great options!

The food here is always great although I wish there were some consistency with side dishes – sometimes there is one and other times there’ll be 3-4 and some rice. The attached store is great and reasonably priced

Comfort food for everyone

They offer about a dozen of classic dishes - a mix of Western-style as well as Korean foods:

Vegan pizza🍕, soy burgers🍔, fried dumplings🥟, tomato pasta🍝, fried soy chicken🍗, soy cutlet🥩, fried rice🍚 as well as Korean stews🍲... and for dessert, there is ice cream (various flavors!)🍨, bingsu🍧, cake🍰 and even waffles🥞!

On top of that, some products are gluten-free and it is also possible to order servings free from garlic and onion (무오신채).
Seems like a place where everyone can find something they like!

💚 My personal favorites are the crispy dumplings filled with glass noodles and mushrooms (군만두), the sweet chili soy chicken (소이후라이드-양념) and the crunchy, freshly-made multi-grain waffles (칠곡와플).

Note that it may take a little while until food is served... last time it took more than 30 mins to process orders... But there is Wifi... And you can browse around inside the store... because this location is only partially restaurant / café: There's a large section where they sell vegan snacks, take-home desserts, cooking ingredients, lifestyle products etc!

Pros: food tastes ok, large menu, price

BEST VEGAN PLACE IN SEOUL

A little hard to reach, but definitely worth it! The food is unbelievable! The food is so good that it's hard to believe that it's vegan, we tried Bulgogi and soy cutlet and they both were amazing, I am sure that the rest of the menu is amazing, too. Also there is a shop where you can buy Beyond Burger, other soy mock meats, instant ramen noodles, pastries etc.

Pros: Great food, great items in the shop

Great place!

We tried the burger (not the fried one) and had the waffle for desert, and let me just tell you – it was so good!!
Such good food! I definitely recommend it :)
It's not the first loving hut we've tried, and so far all of them are fantastic!

Better than expected

Nice interior decor, good selection of vegan dishes including delicious burgers. Loving Huts can be a bit hit and miss sometimes with old school owners, but this is great.

4/5

My partner had the soy meat cutlet which was good. I had chips that actually had salt which is hard to find around here. I also had the soy fried chicken which I didn’t like it didn’t have much flavour and was hard to eat (rubbery), I actually got a sore jaw trying to eat it, it was large portion tho! The store has lots of vegan frozen food you can buy which is nice! The staff were very friendly. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to come here but if you are in the area I would😄

Delicious desserts & lots of vegan food for sale!

The store part of this business have the biggest selection of mock meats I've seen in Seoul - burgers, cutlets, sausages, mock squid and more. There's also vegan cheese and whipping cream. I definitely recommend going there if you want to buy vegan food products 🙂

In the restaurant I had the pork cutlet, red bean frappuccino and two types of icecream with chocolate in them (can't remember the exact names). The pork cutlet was nicely fried and crispy but in my opinion the whole dish was a little bit underseasoned. The frappuccino and the ice cream were delicious. Both were sweet and creamy, but the frappuccino was also refreshing since it wasn't super sweet.

Would definitely go there again, either to try some other dish or to have those desserts again!

Pros: Very reasonable prices in the restaurant, Delicious desserts, Nice staff

Cons: Distance from subway

Awesome spot if you live in Gangnam!

Lovely spot with a grocery store next to it. The ice cream is super yummy and if you get the sundae you get a cone and whipped cream which reminds me of my non vegan days.
I personally usually get the soy cutlet and it does not disappoint! The crispy outside really goes well with the sauce and soy meaty interior. I tried the cutlet burger but that was a mistake because it fell apart really easily (maybe I’m just bad at eating burgers?) I also tried the spicy fried chicken which I frankly wasn’t a big fan of because the chicken was mushy if that makes sense- just not a good texture. The fries however are great. I also have tried the strawberry banana smoothie which was nice but I slurped it down too fast haha.
Overall I would recommend this place if you can get there- there’s a bus that will take you pretty close outside of Gangnam exit 5.

Pros: Nice seating options , Amazing vegan ice cream and grocery , Friendly staff

Very nice vegan food

Great food at reasonable prices. My only problem was getting there because I'm a tourist. It was a long walk from the nearest train station.

Cons: No train station nearby.

What the heck happened???

Loving Hut cafe is still good but what the heck happened? The grocery has WAY less items now...they have stopped selling almost everything I like. Now there is no more soup...the lady said it is seasonal and now it's summer, so no more soup. I ate soup there for the last two summers though. I lvoe soup all year round. I never thought Korea would do "seasonal" no soup summers. Now they have way too many soy meat dishes...bleh.

Pros: Good food, OK grocery shop

Cons: Aggravating location, No more soya burgers, Too many soy meats and no more soup

Large store with vegan groceries!

So aside from the many vegan options to eat here (desserts, coffee, and main dishes), they have items you can use at home! Soy curls, vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan beauty products, etc. It’s hard to find those things here in Seoul so I was pleasantly surprised. I had the mocha Frappuccino which was delicious! I also took home the mocha cake and chocolate cake, by recommendation of staff who was accommodating enough to help when I could not speak korean. She was shy but nice. :)

Pros: Many vegan options, Vegan sweets! , Vegan goods

Great

You can try various meals in vegan style. It definitely deserves 5 stars. If you haven’t tried this place before, I recommend ordering Jjajangmyun and Fried rice together. Ice creams were so-so.
