Had the Arabian wrap after seeing reviews on here... honestly one of the greatest wraps I’ve ever had! They only had German menus I think.. but if you don’t speak German its okay cause vegan options are clearly labelled so that should help 😊

Sehr lecker und eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten von Wraps, gebackenen Kartoffeln über Burger und Tellergerichte (da sollte jeder etwas nach seinem/ihrem Geschmack und Hunger finden können).

Ich hatte den Arabic Wrap mit Sojaeiweiß und Kirchererbsensauce und kann es sehr empfehlen. Eine feine abgestimmte Würzung zum guten Preis. Fantastisch auch die Desserts, die alle vegan gekennzeichnet sind. Von dem Hörnchen und das Kulusch habe ich probiert und diese waren fantastisch.

Tried the Arabic wrap. It was with soya chunks and some salad. It was 5.20€. I felt it's a bit expensive but very fresh and delicious. They have many vegan desserts options too with chia and rice. Will go again😄

A legend regarding good vegan fast food. - Edit
Many years have passed since we first went to Kartoffellord , mostly for the perfect wrap: the Arabic. Back then it was tiny and not much space to sit, but the food was worth it every time.
Read moreNowadays the place is much bigger and you even get order numbers at the register. It is still cozy. And the Arabic wrap is still around and still tastes great. The prices are still reasonable and the friendly owner is still there to take your orders.
The menu offers several vegan mains and nice additions like vegan mayo. Some of the items are organic. Five vegan desserts and a range of beverages to go with your meal. The Kartoffellord still serves the big oven potatoes with various toppings, which make a great meal.
Despite being a quite busy place- which is more a nice fast food place than a restaurant- it is cozy.
Still my fav food place in Dortmund!

"Kartoffellord" is basically my first encounter with real vegan "fast food" ever (luckily). I actually cannot remember when I first ate my first ARABIC but it has to be ages ago. Back then they just had a tiny, tiny shop with 2-3 seats only and where something like THE place for vegans to go to grab a snack. A lot has changed since then, they have a second branch in Düsseldorf now (The Lord, Bilk-Arcaden I guess) and the former tiny kitchen-only place has morphed into a two-story venue with many seats and quite a wide range of dishes compared to the early days.
Read moreI still go there regularily and I always at least take one ARABIC (actually two most of the time), olives with walnut-pomegrenate sauce and Koolocheeh. In my opinion, ARABIC, which they seem to have invented, still is a one-of-a-kind food you can't get anywhere else. It's texture and flavour are so unique and hearty I think I'll always come back.
Another good thing is it's still all homemade and always slightly differs in taste (and quality - but from "very good" to "superior" I don't mind). It's also great to see the (former?) owner and possibly the man who invented ARABIC is still around and supervises the young folks working their so that the quality stays top-notch.
Pros: Always great, one-of-a-kind, ARABIC

My first ever trip to Dortmund has had both good and bad points. Kartoffel-Lord is most certainly one of the good ones. As I write, I have visited twice in 24 hours.
Read moreThe restaurant is fairly central, looks fresh and clean and has a friendly atmosphere. It's not too large and there is a steady flow of customers but both times I've visited I've been lucky enough to find a seat and enjoy my food without being hurried.
The Arabic appears to be the only vegan main but is delicious (as others have commented) and you can, of course, tell them if there are any vegetables you don't want in it as they make it fresh in front of you.
They serve a selection of drinks including Fritz-Kola, Bionade and beer and everything is very reasonably priced. Two of us had a wrap and a drink for about EUR 12.
Pros: Good value, Delicious, Central
Cons: Not all vegan :-)
