Average - Edit
Average food but clearly marked as vegan. Good service in a stunning location beside the church. Pictured is the curry bowl. Quite expensive for the quality of the food.

One of the good ones - Edit
Vegan friendly place, one that didn’t turn us down when hearing that we want vegan food. We had the curry bowls & grilled veggies. Good portion sizes, overall it was one of the pleasant experiences in Biarritz.

Do not order the veggy burger - Edit
We ate at Le Tandem yesterday and even though the view is nice, it was a very mixed experince. The vegetarian entree and cake desserts were delicious - but the veggi burger as a main course was the worst I've ever eaten. It was basically raw falafel dough between two slices of bread and that was it (yet the meaty ones looked fancy..). Both of us did not finish it. I would recommend not ordering the veggie burger (as vegetarian or vegan option) until they change the paddy.

Not many vegan options - Edit
Tried the veggie burger (without sauce) and the curry bowl. Both were tasty but not mindblowing at all. For this price, it would be nice to have a vegan sauce in the burger to make it tastier and less dry. Nice location and nice staff though

okey bc of the nice location - Edit
I had the vegetarian burger but without the cheese (veganized). The pattie was nice, but there was no sauce in it and there was nothing else in it that would make the burger a bit juicy, which is why it was quite dry. So I could choose between Ketchup, Mayo (not vegan) and Mustard. The fries were very crispy and very tasty. My friend had the Curry Bowl and there were a bit few vegetables in it. Price was okey bc of the central location. Overall I would say it was a good decision to eat there.

Good but too few vegan options - Edit
Unfortunately too few vegan options but it is still France so I was glad there where some options. I had the Indian curry bowl which tasted really good but it was a small portion. The French fries also tasted well. Luckily they had a tasty vegan dessert, a pudding with grains, chia and fruit. It is a populair place, once it opens it gets crowded. The location is superb.

Very nice restaurant with great atmosphere. Friendly and hard working staff. Communication in English was easily managable. Offer 2 vegan meals (bowls) and a vegetarian burger that can be veganized. Vegan dessert available.

Very poor quality - Edit
The bread was super old, crispy vegetables were overcooked and not crispy and the service was poor. Didn't stay for a main course cause this was just too disappointing.

Good - Edit
A few options for vegan/vegetarians. We had falafel and home fries as entries, and curry bowl and Buddha bowl and cheesecake (with salted caramel, sooooo good) . All was very good, the staff was friendly, the place is okay. A bit pricey but correct because of where it is situated.

Nice place but poor vegan food - Edit
The vegan options sounded great but their execution wasn't worth the price they asked for. I had the Buddha bowl and was disappointed. It wasn't very tasty and the portion a little too small. The meals have not the quality level of a restaurant, they have more a "snack bar"-quality.
Read moreThe tandem is not a vegetarian restaurant, it also serves meat. And the cook doesn't seem to put much heart into the vegan meals.
It was a cold evening in January and we could not sit outside. The experience is probably more pleasant when it is possible to sit on the terrace looking onto the lively, pedestrian only, place sainte Eugénie.
I don't think I will return to this place to try their other vegan options.

Curry bowl was great - Edit
Had a curry bowl which was nice. Being Vegan around a place like Biarritz there aren’t many places to eat out for dinner so this was a nice that they did something. Was greeted by one of the waitresses who said she was also Vegan and was trying to fight for more vegan options (also the reason they have vegan options in the first place!). One thing that confused us was the fact that they had a vegan burger but was labelled as vegetarian. Sparingly the bread isn’t vegan. Seems a shame as we both fancied a burger.

Vegan food with a view - Edit
I had the buddha bowl and frites maison, and was also served a bread basket and dressing! It was super tasty and generous portion sizes! There were other options I'd love to try (garlic bread, rice pudding). The decor was fab, the staff were friendly and the view was gorgeous. Worthwhile choice for vegans and veggies alike.

Great sounding vegan dishes...average execution - Edit
We were really happy to find this place on Happy Cow. Clearly labelled vegan dishes and the waiter was knowledgeable about what was in everything. We ordered the garlic bread and hummus to start and shared the curry bowl and veggie burger for mains. The garlic bread didn’t have enough of the garlic and oil on it and the hummus was average. The burger patty was really soft and again pretty average. The curry bowl could have been really nice but instead of being fragrant like it should have been it was just very sweet and sickly. Really happy to have the options but just needs a bit more thought.

Tasty Buddha Bowl - Edit
Went to La Tandem for lunch recently and was pleasantly surprised as Biarritz is not great at catering for vegans.

Food is okay, three vegetarian options and one vegan - Edit
The food here was okay, there were 3 vegetarian options and 1 vegan option on the menu. I had the vegan option which was a Buddha Bowl. It was okay, had quinoa, roast sweet potato and avocado, it was not worth the €13.50 that I was charged and had very strange spices and dressing but I did appreciate being able to order something that was clearly market vegan. The drinks menu however did not say which wines or beers were vegan.
