Verse ingrediënten, heerlijk gegeten! - Edit

Het was even zoeken maar al snel werden we vriendelijk opgehaald door de eigenaresse. We hebben hier heerlijk in de tuin gegeten. Een super vers sapje gedronken en we aten een salade, spinazie en artisjok in filodeeg. En zeker een aanrader: de pruimen met amandel tajine!

Yayy vegan food - 7.5/10 - Edit

It is hard to find vegan/vegetarian restaurants even in tourist areas, in this location there is another vegan place right next to it which is funny.

They have a great selection of tagine, I don't like the image of the 'mascot' but you have just a lot of options and some tasty food

Burger (potato and pepper) - 6.9/10 intriguing and good but it just a veg party that thick and looks fun but wouldn't reccomend at Le Corail Vegan Food in Essaouira

Fast and nice vegan food - Edit

We were lucky they had opened, even on the holiday.

The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The portion size was quite small though.

Also I think the food is a bit pricey for the sizes but for an easy and vegan choice it was good.

Not traditional but passionately vegan - Edit

A vegan restaurant, but not representative of Moroccan cuisine as they present and say.
The owner is absolutely lovely, kind, warm, and welcoming, which made the experience feel very personal. However, the food itself was quite far from what is traditionally considered Moroccan. Dishes described as tajine or pastilla were more a mix of steamed vegetables with oil, lacking the depth, spices, and preparation that define Moroccan cooking.

As a passionate vegan who’s been traveling through Morocco for over a decade, I deeply value both plant-based food and the rich culinary heritage of this country.

This is also one of the more expensive restaurants in Essaouira, which makes it harder to overlook the simplicity of the meals. I truly support vegan initiatives, especially in regions where they are still growing, but it’s important that they honor local traditions and offer value to both tourists and locals alike.

With some adjustments and more attention to Moroccan culinary authenticity, this place has real potential.

I think that the most honest way is remove the traditional experience of Moroccan food and just saying vegan spot with veggies.

Very tasty and versatile - Edit

Had a lovely very hearty pastilla (with potatoes, spinach and chickpeas), and a eggplant mushroom tagine. Really recommend it!
The beetroot juice was amazing too.

Simple, tasty and original - Edit

After a few days of msemen, vegetables tagines, houmous and falafel, this place was just a heaven. Every dish we tested was so tasty m, we left nothing in the plates.
It s not expensive and the portions were generous.
It s a one-man restaurant but we did not wait so long (and it was worth the wait anyway).
Best vegan restaurant so far in Morocco !

Tous nos repas à Essaouira ont été pris ici tant il y a de possibilités.

A fully vegan gem in Essaouria - Edit

This is a great fully vegan spot in Essaouira with an extensive menu, including salads, spring rolls and tagines with several plant based ingredient combinations and lots of fresh juices. I visited with a group of five omni friends who all loved the food. We visited once and tried to go back a second time but there was too long of a wait for food. From what we saw, the restaurant is run by one person only who takes the orders, cooks, and clears the tables, etc. As such, this place is best enjoyed when you aren't in a rush.

Cons: Service can be quite slow

Best vegan food I had in Morocco - Edit

Amazing flavourful food. I stayed for a couple of weeks in Essaouira and ate here very often. The food and drinks were always fresh and very delicious. The menu is pretty large, I usually went with one of the tajines and either a pastilla or falafel (try them for sure!!!)

Huge vegan menu - Edit

A huge all vegan menu with a wide variety of food, tagines, and drinks. We went for a small lunch which we enjoyed. The spring rolls were very tasty, and so were the lentils. We were only in Essaouira for the day but would have loved to come back to try the other dishes. There didn’t seem to be any inside seating, but all the seats were covered.

Best Tajine I had in Essaouira - Edit

It’s a small one-man show in the middle of a plaza in Essaouira. I asked the cook for his recommendation on which tajine to try, since the variety of all-vegan tajines was amazing. In the end I went with the one featuring eggplant, artichoke, and mushroom. I also got the spring rolls with spinach and chickpeas.

The tajine was the tastiest I’ve had in Essaouira, maybe even in all of Morocco so far. It came piping hot and fresh out of a tajine pot, still sizzling when served. The mix of spices and herbs was absolutely outstanding.

The spring rolls were huge and came with some fried rice and a salty, umami, soy-based glaze on top. All in all they were very delicious, just quite salty. A sweet-spicy sauce might have paired better, but that’s really just a tiny nitpick.

At the end I asked the cook where I could buy good spices in Essaouira. He was so nice that he went into his kitchen and packed me his own mix of spices in a small plastic bag, free of charge. It smelled truly amazing.

Amazing vegan tajine - Edit

Small and cozy restaurant in a little plaza .
All the staff is 1 person, that serve , cook and take orders and surprisingly the wait time was really short !
We took the vegetable and lentil tajine and the chickpeas artichoke tajine .
Both were really healthy and tasteful .
Super suggested don’t get mess by the weird insignia

Ps. I don’t agree with one of the comments that it’s pricey, many places here are way more expensive. The spring rolls were only 60 dirham and filled me up just fine.

It was so great to have a fully vegan restaurant to eat at in the heart of the Medina. We really enjoyed the spring rolls which were very big and came with rice. We also had the lentil tajine and white bean and veggies tajine which were both really tasty. My wife who can be very picky loved the food. The quiet and very kind owner is also the chef and server, so sometimes the wait is a little long, but nothing ridiculous. Recommend.

This was our first visit to this little corner restaurant. The vegan food was very enjoyable we both had different tagines. Both were very good as was the sweet course made of banana dates and pumpkin with cinnamon in very a tasty wrap.

French speaking server. The tajines here only had the ingredients listed with more spices and herbs. The bean and courgette I preferred to the artichoke and pea. The mint tea was more a mix of fresh and dried. I prefer fresh mint tea. We got the pastilla and spring rolls next as my partner was still hungry. Several things we requested for the menu they didn’t have so we went with his recommendation. The mixed pastilla was probably my favorite with lots of veg and balsamic drizzled over and rice with red pepper. We far prefer Shyadma’s vegan food next door but this was a savior when it was closed.

Worth trying! - Edit

The owner gave us a warm welcome and kindly recommended the eggplant and artichoke heart tagine — and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and really worth trying. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely come back on our next visit. Highly recommended!
