Delicious Moroccan food

There are a ton of vegan options and the owner is very nice. We came back three days in a row. The prices are low compared to other options in the Medina.

Huge vegan menu

A huge all vegan menu with a wide variety of food, tagines, and drinks. We went for a small lunch which we enjoyed. The spring rolls were very tasty, and so were the lentils. We were only in Essaouira for the day but would have loved to come back to try the other dishes. There didn’t seem to be any inside seating, but all the seats were covered.

Great food

Small place with delicious vegan food. The menu offers a great variety of dishes and juices as well. We ordered an eggplant and cauliflower tajine and a veg burger with lentils, chickpeas and rice which was really good! The owner was very kind and welcoming!

50 tagines to choose from!

If you were bored from the one potato and carrot tagine that every place serves, here you have whatever you want!

Chef is also waiter but tasted good.

Pistachio juice was OK

Best Tajine I had in Essaouira

It’s a small one-man show in the middle of a plaza in Essaouira. I asked the cook for his recommendation on which tajine to try, since the variety of all-vegan tajines was amazing. In the end I went with the one featuring eggplant, artichoke, and mushroom. I also got the spring rolls with spinach and chickpeas.

The tajine was the tastiest I’ve had in Essaouira, maybe even in all of Morocco so far. It came piping hot and fresh out of a tajine pot, still sizzling when served. The mix of spices and herbs was absolutely outstanding.

The spring rolls were huge and came with some fried rice and a salty, umami, soy-based glaze on top. All in all they were very delicious, just quite salty. A sweet-spicy sauce might have paired better, but that’s really just a tiny nitpick.

At the end I asked the cook where I could buy good spices in Essaouira. He was so nice that he went into his kitchen and packed me his own mix of spices in a small plastic bag, free of charge. It smelled truly amazing.

Pros: Delicious Tajine, Huge Springrolls, Lots of Variety

Amazing vegan tajine

Small and cozy restaurant in a little plaza .
All the staff is 1 person, that serve , cook and take orders and surprisingly the wait time was really short !
We took the vegetable and lentil tajine and the chickpeas artichoke tajine .
Both were really healthy and tasteful .
Super suggested don’t get mess by the weird insignia

Pros: Food, Little , Managed by just one person

Great spring rolls

Many varieties, I tried the ones with eggplant and bell pepper. Yumski…

Ps. I don’t agree with one of the comments that it’s pricey, many places here are way more expensive. The spring rolls were only 60 dirham and filled me up just fine.

Vegan oasis

It was so great to have a fully vegan restaurant to eat at in the heart of the Medina. We really enjoyed the spring rolls which were very big and came with rice. We also had the lentil tajine and white bean and veggies tajine which were both really tasty. My wife who can be very picky loved the food. The quiet and very kind owner is also the chef and server, so sometimes the wait is a little long, but nothing ridiculous. Recommend.

Pros: Fresh and tasty , Decent prices , Great location

Simple but good

Owner is the waiter and also the chef. Chilled. Spring rolls were good, white bean tagine was basic.

Brilliantly executed

This was our first visit to this little corner restaurant. The vegan food was very enjoyable we both had different tagines. Both were very good as was the sweet course made of banana dates and pumpkin with cinnamon in very a tasty wrap.

Pros: Charming owner come chef. He

Lots of vegan options

French speaking server. The tajines here only had the ingredients listed with more spices and herbs. The bean and courgette I preferred to the artichoke and pea. The mint tea was more a mix of fresh and dried. I prefer fresh mint tea. We got the pastilla and spring rolls next as my partner was still hungry. Several things we requested for the menu they didn’t have so we went with his recommendation. The mixed pastilla was probably my favorite with lots of veg and balsamic drizzled over and rice with red pepper. We far prefer Shyadma’s vegan food next door but this was a savior when it was closed.

Worth trying!

The owner gave us a warm welcome and kindly recommended the eggplant and artichoke heart tagine — and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and really worth trying. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely come back on our next visit. Highly recommended!

Sympathiek restaurantje

Rustig terrasje van een sympathiek eenmansrestaurantje met heerlijke sapjes. De tajines zijn een beetje overdreven gekruid met een soort bouillonblokjes, maar de andere gerechten waren helemaal top!
100% vegan restaurant 😋

Pros: 100% vegan , Heerlijke sapjes , Sympathieke plek

Tourist food

A vegan restaurant, but not representative of Moroccan cuisine as they present and say.
The owner is absolutely lovely, kind, warm, and welcoming, which made the experience feel very personal. However, the food itself was quite far from what is traditionally considered Moroccan. Dishes described as tajine or pastilla were more a mix of steamed vegetables with oil, lacking the depth, spices, and preparation that define Moroccan cooking.

As a passionate vegan who’s been traveling through Morocco for over a decade, I deeply value both plant-based food and the rich culinary heritage of this country. It’s disappointing when a place, despite good intentions, feels more like a tourist trap rather than a celebration of authentic flavors and ingredients as they promote.

This is also one of the more expensive restaurants in Essaouira, which makes it harder to overlook the simplicity of the meals. I truly support vegan initiatives, especially in regions where they are still growing, but it’s important that they honor local traditions and offer value to both tourists and locals alike.

With some adjustments and more attention to Moroccan culinary authenticity, this place has real potential.

I think that the most honest way is remove the traditional experience of Moroccan food and just saying vegan spot with veggies.

DON'T GO THERE

I really wanted to give a good review — the restaurant is fully vegan and I wanna support that. But the food isn't edible. Everything is covered with a weird seasoning sauce (Maggi??) which is neither typically moroccan nor typical for vegan food. The tajine was the worst we ate during our whole trip through Morocco. The restaurant is also very expensive for Essaouira. I'd definitely go to the vegan restaurant next door, the food is way cheaper and waaaaay better.

Pros: It's vegan

Cons: Aubergine tajine (don't order it!!) , Seasoning sauce over all the food , Burger was mashed potatoes with rice

Excellent range

Quite extensive range of juices, burgers, tagines plus a few salads and desserts. Prices felt a little high, you're probably paying for the novelty. Potato burger (served with rice) was tasty and filling.

Pros: Lots of choice, Pleasant location

Cons: Juice had ginger in it, not listed as ingredient

Lovely spring rolls

We were in the city for just 5 hour and we spent 2 there because the service was incredibly slow. The owner was alone, so it is understandable, but just in case you are in a rush, maybe it is not the best place.

The tajine and cous-cous were quite bland, the "spring rolls" and juices were delicious.
We wanted to try falafels, but he had run out.

Pros: The spring rolls, The fresh juices

Cons: The very slow service

A Must Visit for vegans

Pastilla and spring rolls are Super flavorful. Fresh juices are worth the visit alone. English menu so easy to order. The eggplant tagine though is no longer yummy. Tasted like steamed eggplant. A pity. They also ran out of bread 2 days in a row so no bread with tagine.

Pros: Flavorful, Almost all vegan, Nice terrace

Disappointing

Based on the reviews we were really looking forward to trying Le Corail. Perhaps we went on a bad day or chose the wrong dishes but they did not live up to the hype. We had the artichoke and bean tagine (average, quite salty) and on chefs recommendation tried the pumpkin, prune, nut (and we missed there was also banana). It was overly sweet and not pleasant.
The juices were great and the bread was fresh, staff very nice, think we were just unlucky.

Best vegan place in Essaouira

The chef in this amazing restaurant is working all by himself and still manage to provide a quick service and some delicious and fresh vegan food in very generous quantity. The price are low for the amount of food given. I strongly recommend this place if you ever visit Essaouira!

Pros: The delicious flavors, The fast service, The price

Cons: The menu is a bit overwelming

Lovely humble little restaurant

This is a little gem we’re glad we found. The man serving us was a man of few words but he was kind and polite and had such peaceful energy. The food was tasty and fresh. We shared a sweet « brick » of filo pastry with pumpkin and figs for desert and it was so good! All of it came to such reasonable price too! Not to be missed 👌🏻

Pros: Peaceful vibes, Amazing location , Friendly cats come to see you while you eat
