Moderate food, felt not good afterwards - Edit
We had the vegan loempia's and the vegan red curry. The loempia's were not bad, but not great either. The curry was okay, but again not great. It only had vegetables, no tofu, which is a pity. The portion may be too small, especially if you don't take a starter. The presentation of the curry was a bit different: the rice was hidden beneath the sauce with vegetables, which made it a bit a soggy curry.
Read moreAfterwards, we both had slight issues with taste of the food coming up back in our throat ... no idea if this was because of the food not being fresh or not having been prepared in a completely hygienic way. Our issues lasted till the day after...
We were not fond of the inside of the restaurant, the tables are organised in a not so cosy way, there are also some high tables (less comfortable).
The service was correct, but a bit distant maybe.

The food was exceptional here and each meal has a cocktail suggestion. They have several meals that can be made gluten-free and vegan. We both had the Thai red curry whicj was amazing. The waitress was very nice and happy to talk us through the menu. It's also very good value for Oostende and they welcome dogs. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Een gezellige plaats met terras en aangename muziek. Een vriendelijke gastvrouw en bediening. Op aanvraag kunnen meerdere gerecht vegan gemaakt worden dus voldoende keuze. Ik heb de Mexicaanse tortilla genomen. Heel lekker met veel verse groenten.

Very happen to have discovered this place, as options for vegans in Ostend are still pretty scarce.

We had the papadums (6,5€) and sushi as appetizers (8€) and the curry (18€) and faijita (16€) as main dishes.
The food was really nice. Freshly prepared, great taste, nice presentation. Service was swift and friendly. The interior also enjoyable.
A couple of weeks later, I have visited again with a friend, and we also had a nice lunch. And now, La Vie has a seperate menu card available which indicates which dishes can be veganised. Then we had the curry & ramen.
