Always many vegan options. Informed/aware staff. Food is great. Portions large at least last time we were there 5 months ago or so. Would go frequently were it closer to where we live.

Read moreis unacceptable. If you want good service, don't go to this restaurant. I still can't believe what happened when we dined here on January 15th, 2026.
That night, I ordered Sopes Jackfruit Tinga that normally comes with a generous amount of Cashew Crema sauce. I had ordered this hundreds of times, and the Cashew Crema makes the dish, but this particular night, they really skimped on it. So I asked our waitress for a little bit more Cashew Crema. She said "no problem" and brought me a small cup with what amounted to a few tablespoons of Cashew Crema sauce. However, when we got the bill, we were shocked to see there was an extra charge of $4.00 for Cashew Crema. Why didn't our waitress tell us there would be a charge for this before she brought it?
We called our waitress over to ask about this charge, and she went to get the manager, whose name is Theresa Ibarra. We told her that our waitress never informed us there would be a $4.00 charge for more Cashew Crema. The manager said she didn't care that our waitress hadn't informed us of the charge up front, and that "cashews are expensive, and we have to charge you".
There was no discussion, no compromise, and she didn't care at all about our experience. We eat out frequently, and we have never experienced such poor service.
We won't go back to that restaurant again. It's a shame that Theresa and the new owners are destroying the Topete family legacy of 50 years.

There are so many choices. There's a dedicated section of just vegan dishes. There are also a few other plates that can be made vegan outside of the section. Other than that, their portions for me are enormous. I couldn't finish them all, but let me tell you, their food is delicous. #Veganuary

Loved the food and the vibe! La Unica is a super stylish casual/classy Mexican-Latin-Fusion restaurant. There are five entrees on the plant-based section on their menu. I chose the jackfruit tacos. The tacos came with a beautiful presentation of fresh veggies — shredded carrots and jicama, watermelon radish, and avocado. They make their own maíz blue corn tortillas too. Definitely going back to try the other vegan dishes.

Vegan chesse that’s actually GOOD?!? I didn’t think it was possible, but this restaurant has nachos that uses vegan cheese and it’s sooo good! Imma vegetarian not yet vegan, and cheese is the main reason! If all restaurant had options like this I would switch immediately. The beans are vegan, they make vegetarian tamales during the holiday season. I love this place! I don’t come nearly enough!
