We almost got intoxicated, as its name suggests - Edit
We've gone to La Tóxica in El Vendrell twice and there won't be a third.
First time we went just for drinks but ended up getting some food. No vegan fries on the menu, so we asked if the onion rings were vegan. The waiter didn't know "plant-based" or "vegan" means, but after we had to explain, he still couldn't tell us if they were or not.
After a while, he checked with kitchen and said yes. Onion rings were okay but not worth €7 for the tiny portion.
So this week we gave it another shot and ordered two vegan burgers. Menu offered Beyond Burger but this other waiter said they're currently serving artichoke burgers because they'd had "a lot of complaints" with the Beyond (weird, could've just said they don't get vegan customers and artichoke burger is cheaper?). We said as long as it's vegan, fine. We ask specifically if "LT sauce" was vegan and he said for sure. Burger (way smaller than others) and fries came drenched in this sauce that didn't look vegan... but he seemed sure, so we trusted. Result?
10 minutes later, my partner got stomach pain, I got same soon after with tons of gas, stomach upset... awful. I'm 99% sure the sauce wasn't vegan, doubt the bun was either. So they don't have any options, be careful.
I think they don't care much about intolerances. A place to avoid.
