Fantastic Nutritious Experience - Edit

The experience was great from start to finish. Our waitress was very welcoming and gave us tons of suggestions. We ordered the cheese and all their 6 taco options. We also ordered their guacamole (Gordita they call it). The guacamole was a tad salty. Overall the tacos were very tasty and the food was extremely nutritious, every ingredient was a power food.

Pros: Staff was passionate and informative , Place was clean and cozy, Água del Dia

Cons: Wish there were more taco options

Delicate flavors, beautiful fresh tacos - Edit

These make me think of a European “elevated” take on vegan tacos — lots of ingredients like cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, and lots of creamy textures. The flavors are more delicate (ie, not spicy or strong) than any other vegan tacos I’ve tried in Mexico. Honestly not my thing, but if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll find nowhere better.

Pros: Beautiful, Fresh, Unique

Cons: Not strongly flavored, Not inexpensive

creative cuisine, great people! - Edit

Love this place! Friendly people and great, creative food. One thing to note though: as of December 2017, there have been serious problems with the building administration, and the other 4 restaurants in the "plaza" (V-Ramen, Fonda Macha, Milkella, and Vegan Planet) are all either permanently closed or moving out.

The folks at Pitahaya said that they will remain for now, but the location may change, so check their FB before heading down.

Pros: delicious, creative, nice people

Great tacos - Edit

La Pitahaya is located in a food court along with other vegan restaurants. The tacos were great. We loved the natural color of the tacos, We tried a number of the tacos. All were nice. They are made behind the counter, right across from the seating. They took credit cards. We came again the next day for more.

I ordered pastor de setas and they were delicious. They are served in pink tortillas! Ginger and hibiscus water was fresh and lovely. They even had chicarrón de "queso".

Pros: The place looks very nice., They don't use plastic for the servings.

pink tortillas! - Edit

We tried three different tacos plus the quesadilla here, and all were delicious. My husband and i agreed that the oyster mushroom al pastor taco was hands down the best thing. And the pink tortillas were darling and delicious! Also, its outdoor seating and the surroundings were beautiful and the weather was perfect.

Great spot for gourmet vegan tacos. - Edit

Housed in the Casa Quimera food market. Awesome 100% plant-based gourmet tacos. Flavours of the fillings were fantastic and presentation was great. A street-style, culinary experience. Looking forward to going back.

Weirdest tacos - Edit

Firstly, the staff is incredibly friendly. When it comes to the menu, they have the weirdest fillings. One of the tacos I had had coconut and cauliflower as filling, which turned out to be my favourite one I ordered! The raw one was pretty good as well. I'll come back here and try all the fillings :)

Tacos with a twist - Edit

I was rather impressed with this place...very artisnale with pink tacos and a variety of imaginative and yummy fillings. Again..got the overwhelming feeling of 'that I can eat everything!' but was helped out with the very friendly guys working there. They are quite gourmet with their fillings so could be on the pricey side for some but this isn't designed to be the ubiquitous street taco stand prevalent all over the city.

Pros: pink tacos, creative fillings, helpful staff and speak English

Cons: might be a bit pricey

delicious pink tacos - Edit

Pink tortillas! Four choices of taco fillings. I had the combo of two tacos and water-of-the-day (65 pesos). The two fillings I chose were Jamaican (pulled jackfruit) and potato curry. Today’s water was cucumber with lime and orange. Then I had the mamey ice cream topped with puffed amaranth (50 pesos). Mamey sapote is a fruit I hadn’t heard of, quite sweet apparently, so they don’t need much sugar when making their almond-milk-based ice cream. Mango, strawberry and another flavour were also available. They also make water kefir here. The other two taco fillings were mushroom and creamy cauliflower. Self-serve spicy toppings. Really tasty meal!
Located behind Vegan Planet at Casa Quimera, corner of Orizaba and Guanajuanto.

Pros: delicious food, vegan ice cream, friendly staff
