Serves meat, vegan options available. Italian-owned pizzeria. Offers pizza without cheese for vegans and also banana based soft serve ice cream. Open Mon-Sat 8:00am-10:00pm.
We had very nice penne pasta with a yummy Vegan sauce. However, the Vegan Calzone, ordered off the Vegan menu, came with beef bits in it. It was difficult to communicate with the staff about it, and they didn't really seem to understand the importance of this to us and the revulsion we would feel.
I had dinner here with my husband after reading some of the reviews on Happycow. We were curious and decided to try it out which is always a gamble if you go to a meat/fish/cheese restaurant as vegans.
Beautiful garden, nice decor and the taste in music was very good (oldies goldies, rock, pop from the 80s, respected musicians, really nice). I have to say that I wasn't overwhelmed by the food. We ordered focaccia which I thought was thick pizza bread but instead, we got some very crispy crackers which we later realised is their pizza base. I don't know if the head chef has ever worked with Italians but the pizza base isn't pizza anymore, it's like a thin poppadom. Anyway, the pasta was cooked to perfection (al dente) so that was nice and the pomodoro sauce it came in was alright.
The staff are friendly but they seem a bit unsure how to approach customers. They let us sit for 30min until they finally got our order when we waved and we were the only ones in there so it felt a bit strange. But hey, we don't really mind service - for us it's all about the food.
Overall average but it has potential of being a very good restaurant. We wish them well for the future.
We came to this really lovely restaurant everyday for our one week holiday. The food is divine, the best pizza ever and the desserts are all so yummy. Everyday we treated ourselves to a bottle of Prosecco. Very friendly family run business. We highly recommend this place, pretty cool atmosphere and interesting paintings everywhere.
The restaurant has a wonderful ambience and a good sized menu. I had a margarita pizza with a class of house red wine. My Dad who usually hates pizza really enjoyed it and ate half of mine! They have vegan pizzas on the menu (no cheese) too. The base was thin and crispy which is just how I like it. I would definitely come back.
You will not find an Italian experience elsewhere on the island - Edit
Good wine. I agree with others, the pizza bases are almost like an Indian Papadum and I could see a lot of the base on my 4 cheese pizza. There was almost as much base showing as there was covered with cheese. I would vote 2 stars for the pizza and 4 stars for the experience. It is a shame that this restaurant is being judged on its pizza by me and others. Maybe other items on the menu are more authentic. If they produced a good pizza the place would easily be 4 or 5 stars.
I was really looking forward spending an evening at La Luna Pizzeria, but unfortunately I got disappointed.
The atmosphere and the ambience is very nice just as the waiters. Nevertheless, the pizza is not really a pizza since the crust is so thin it reminded me more of a cracker. There were nearly no tomoatosauce on it and maybe five tiny pieces of vegetables as a do called vegetable topping. And the prices do not justify the amount of pizza you get. Moreover, my boyfriends pizza had cheese on it even though he ordered a vegan one. They were really kind about it and he got a new one. But we had the feeling that they didn't really know what vegan means.
Maybe the pasta is better, I don't know but I won't come back to try it.
Not the best pizza in the world by a long shot, the crust was super thin, but it's a good option on Koh Yao Noi. They also make their own banana based ice creams with other fruits like blueberry, raspberry and strawberry mixed in which puts this place ahead of anywhere else on the island making cheese-less pizzas.

No vegan cheese - Edit
There wasn’t vegan cheese at the end of 2024 as some previous reviews stated. Pizza wasn’t great and service was not great.
