Super cute place with limited outdoor seating. Burrito and gyro were both very good. Selection of drinks, drip coffee, some packaged goods, and treats also available. It’s a must stop if you find yourself in the area.

Everything here is 100% vegan, and they have lots of gluten free options as well! The owner is so sweet and the cafe is so cute! Perfect for a brunch date or grab a bite after running along the beach! Would definitely come here again, may even become a regular spot for us 🩷

Read moreLa Janelle Cafe is one of the very few fully vegan and organic restaurants no matter where you live and travel. The proprietor, Xochitl, is a delightful and talented chef whose main ingredient is love in all her dishes! She is conscientious in her intention to provide tasty healthy whole foods in a challenging era of unregulated heavily processed, synthesized “food” products.
We could smell the scrumptious tempeh bacon as we approached her cozy cafe. I had the Mexicali bowl, one of the most delicious bowls I have tasted in 17 years of being vegan. Chef Xochitl has perfected jackfruit. I also had a Berry Bliss smoothie featuring her homemade organic almond milk, a splash of OJ and delicious berries!
My partner had the Nard Nachos which he thoroughly enjoyed, with harmonizing flavors; smooth homemade cheese sauce, black beans, cilantro and jackfruit perfection!
We had to return the following day to savor the Shoreline Burrito featuring homemade tempeh bacon, tofu scramble, back beans, and potatoes, chips and side of pico de gallo. For dessert we had her vegan chocolates that melted in our mouths.
A rememberable dining experience we will not soon forget and will recommend to vegans and non vegans alike. Whether you live in the area or visiting, La Janelle Cafe is a must. Easy to find on the main drag on Silver Strand Beach in Port Hueneme district in Oxnard.

We stopped here while we were passing through on a road trip, and got the nachos, the Mexicali bowl, the house burger, and the shipwreck smoothie. Everything was delicious!! Definitely the best jackfruit “meat” we have ever had. And the cashew nacho cheese was particularly good, too. The entire menu is plant-based/vegan. I highly recommend this place😄

The food is incredible and the staff are super nice! We enjoyed the burrito and the nachos, but we plan to go back and try the burger. What a nice little find in that area. Parking can be found across the street or down the side streets if there is nothing available right in front.

I am writing this review a couple of days after I went there for the first time.
Read moreI got the shoreline burrito but there was so much filling that they could not actually put it in a tortilla without the tortilla breaking. So they placed the filling on a tortilla in a to go container with chips all the way around bordering it. Very interesting presentation. This lasted me for three meals! Lots of flavors with every bite! I simply forgot to take a photo of it!
I also got the burger that they put on a baguette because I asked for gluten-free. The produce was as fresh as can be and the flavors just exploded into my mouth! So tasty.
I also got their Berry Bliss smoothie and it was SO delicious.
I work for HappyCow so I gave them an excellent review window decal which they will put on after they take their old one off the window (see photo). They were very gracious and friendly hosts and it was a joy speaking to both of them.

Amazing nachos and friendly staff - Edit
The woman who runs the restaurant was very nice and described all the menu items to us. The nachos were so good - the jackfruit carnitas are slow roasted and the queso and other toppings are perfect. We also got the shoreline burrito but would love to have tried everything on the menu!

We visited today. Hubby and I shared the burrito and the garlic bread. It was so tasty. Food was piping hot and freshly made. The menu is quite small but there are at least 4 more things I want to try. I love coming to Oxnard, but previous vegan eating attempts have been pretty poor. So we can’t wait to come back and try more dishes

Hands down, The Best Vegan burger I have ever eaten! The condiments were superb! Everything is prepared fresh. Small kitchen but well worth the wait if there are orders ahead. Owners are friendly and helpful! I travelled from out of town so I needed a restroom. Easy to find one nearby on the kiddie beach. Parking was easy once I found the place. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place and I'll be back! ❤️❤️
