Great but pricy

I went there twice for breakfast/brunch and loved the food. The cocktail I tried was not that nice though. As was mentioned by others already: it’s pretty pricy for Malaysia! Staff was friendly and interior is beautiful :).

Soooo delicious.

We first were not sure how much to order, we overdid it a little bit. The portions are great main meal sizes and the taste of every single dish was devine. 10/10 recommend.

Pros: Portionsize, Charming interiors, The drinks were incredible too

One of the best restaurants I’ve tried

After a year, I’m still thinking about this place. You must go try the croissants there. So flaky and light. It’s a top restaurant for me, and I’ve been traveling vegan for years. Those croissants!!!!

Tasty Gem in the Centre of KL

Lovely Cafe / Bar / Bakery near ChinaTown
Friendly waitstaff who are happy to give recommendations (pure vegan menus always stump me)

Holy vegan paradise, Batman!

This place is worth the price and then some.
We had the full breakfast. It was not cheap, but it was amazingly tasty.
Ian, our server, was super professional, friendly, and helpful.
We will clearly be back there as they have many different options, and everything looked incredible.
Don't sleep on this one while in KL.

Pros: Breakfast is wholesome and awesome, Pastries, cakes, ice cream... it's all vegan, Very friendly staff and good vibes

insanely good vegan pastries

i’d go back just for the croissants 🤤 absolutely a must-try. also had the carbonara and the no-egg-no-bacon pie (was not really a pie; more like a sandwich) which were really good too!
one con — had a bagel which was quite tough to bite into. would avoid the jaw workout next time 😅

Top 3 best vegan burgers I've ever had

One of the best and most flavoursome vegan burgers I've ever had. Massive. Shoe string fries which came with it let it down a bit though. extremely oily and hard to eat. Easily solved if they just cut them a bit thicker. Good coffee as well. Note they don't have the burger on the dinner menu unfortunately. Dinner menu is nowhere near as good as lunch menu. Still tasty though , just not much protein, and the portion I got at least was pretty small. I still have to give it a 5 though, as the burger was so off the hook.

Pros: Great flavour , Insane burger , Good coffee

Cons: Shoes string fries to oily, better thicker cut, Limited protein on dinner menu

Favourite restaurant in KL!

This became our favourite restaurant in KL, probably even the whole region. The food, pastries and drinks are incredible. They have the best vegan croissants in the world, so good it actually makes you angry that every croissant isn’t as good as this one. Anything you order on this menu will be packed full of flavour and you’ll love it.

Great food, cakes and pastry

Definitely on the expensive side for KL and Malaysia but the food is really good, there is always a wide selection of cakes and the staff has been lovely every time - it kept me going back!

Pros: Number of options, Great staff, Leftover pastries are 3x2 at night

Fancy atmosphere, food food

Kind of a fancy restaurant. Got assigned a floor table when walking in. If you want to sit on chairs, maybe make a reservation.

Food was good, maybe a bit too expensive

A Malaysian Must

This place is equal measures class, cool and bloody brilliant. The quirky yet inviting interior/layout sets the tone straightaway and, with the food, it just keeps delivering. The sausage roll, while no Greggs, was a great appetiser for things to come. The shoestring fries were crispy, la gula whopper sliders were incredible little morsels with a real eggy, cheesy goodness to them, see-food platter was superb, the carbonna was creamy and unctuous, and the tahini & maple salad gave a wonderful fresh respite from everything else.
Then we have the desserts. Oh my word. I could easily spent the rest of my afternoon mining my way through everything on offer, but I (somehow) managed to restrict myself to ‘just’ a scones, a cinnamon roll and a biscoff croissant…and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. When I say these pastries were good, I mean good. The pick of the bunch was definitely the biscoff croissant, which is no slight on the others, but this was easily the best croissant I’ve ever had, it was ridiculous.
If you’re in KL, or perhaps just Malaysia in general or a neighbouring country, I implore you make your way here.

Great spot of plant based lunch

Popped in for a quick bite after enjoying the food in its sister place down the road a few nights before. Really nice staff, funky vibe and the food was great. Gem had the bagel with vegan fried egg and I had the sourdough with plant based pastrami and cheese. Really nice, wil definitely be coming back 👍

Favourite

My favourite place to have ever eaten vegan and that’s coming from London where we have a lot to choose from. We were in KL for a little over 24 hours and ate here twice. So many cakes, ice creams and pastries to choose from - after two months travelling around Asia the kids were beyond excited for the sugar rush. So fun to have a cheeseboard (an enormous one at that!) and great cocktails in the evening too!

Pros: Choice, Cocktails, Lovely staff

Great place for brunch!

A pleasant atmosphere and a well-designed layout. The lighting is especially impressive and enhances the overall ambience. Customers can choose between indoor or outdoor dining, both of which provide a comfortable experience. Outdoor seating is particularly enjoyable, allowing you to observe the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur and its people as they go about their day.

We tried the Rendang croissant, which was a little spicy and oily but incredibly indulgent.

Nice tasty vegan restaurant

Nice place with a good menu and reasonable prices for vegan food. Had the hedgehog rendang dish which was very tasty. And had a nice iced passion fruit mint tea. Well worth the visit. Easy to find,in a touristy area.

Cute vegan cafe

La Gula is one of the best vegan bakeries and cafes in the world let alone in Kuala Lumpur! It has a gorgeous interior with a range of comfy seating options. It has a wide range of delicious food, from breakfast to lunch to dinner. We had the Mediterranean salad, four cheez and Margherita pizzas, shoestring fries, and some bakery stuff to takeaway. All delicious! Will definitely come back. Lalpu was a great member of staff, thank you! It is also in a great location in Chinatown, near its sister restaurant the Hungry Tapir - also worth a visit!!

Pros: Gorgeous interior and atmosphere, Great staff - thank you to Lalpu in particular, Delicious food
