Vegan options in a fishing town! - Edit
I was excited to find this little gem in Honfleur. My husband and I looked at dozens of restaurants in the quaint little fishing town that basically served the same thing - fish soup, mussels a dozen ways, etc. I just wanted a nice vegan soup on a chilly winter evening. La Cantine offered a delicious vegan broccoli soup. I also ordered the quinoa mushroom risotto, which was quite tasty. Our waiter was very pleasant. Great service.

Struggled to find a decent spot in Honfleur for vegan & non vegan to enjoy. About 4 or 5 options for VE. Loved the tofu bowl, really good flavours and recommend highly. Could have been a little bigger portion. Other mains went down great, seafood & meat options for everyone to enjoy

I had the tofu bowl which was lacking in flavor. The tofu wasn’t marinated and it was a small portion. However my boyfriend had the falafel bowl which was excellent.

Their opening hours and their menu are currently drastically reduced; They only offer one vegan dish - a bowl with different kinds of vegetables, which was okay - and, unfortunately, no vegan dessert any more. Is it due to the pandemic? Is it because they are looking for a new cook? Whatever the reasons are, I hope they will make it and improve the options for vegans and for vegetarians in the near future as there is a lot of room for improvement in this town.

Honfleur, een Frans authentiek vissersdorpje. Daar ga je weinig vegan vinden en dat is ook absoluut zo. Gelukkig kon Happy Cow ons naar Le Cantine wijzen. En ik moet zeggen, ik heb slechter gegeten in kantines. De keuze is niet reuze, maar wat ze hier bereiden en serveren is absoluut de moeite waard. Je hebt de keuze uit een falafelbowl en een tofubowl.

Un restaurant dans l'ensemble agréable avec un cadre sympa. Les bowls vegan sont copieux, petit bemols à la qualité du tofu (qui ressemble fortement au tofu nature de Bjorg), du houmous et des falafels. De plus le dessert riz au Lait de coco n'est pas Vegan comme indiqué sur la carte car il est recouvert de caramel au beurre salé (à demander sans caramel pour les Vegans du coup).

Tasty healthy food in cozy cafe setting - Edit
Please note: the restaurant is known as La Cantine. We tried both vegan bowls which were a good portion size, filled with tasty, healthy ingredients and the organic cider was the perfect accompaniment. The vegan rice pudding was slightly dry, but they added this incredible granola crunch to it which was delicious. The seating both inside and out is comfy and cozy, and the upstairs would be the perfectly cozy setting for romantic diners or groups. Will return.
