Leuk tentje, maar…. - Edit
De falafelbowl was op zich leuk gemaakt maar smaakte erg zuur. Veel zure groenten en/of rijst en nogal dikke repen rauwe rode kool. Dat eet niet makkelijk. Kan wat subtieler allemaal.

Nice place with great service and the tofu bowl was excellent. I loved the combination of flavors, especially the vinegared rice. I would definitely recommend. There are multiple choices including a delicious crumble for dessert.

Lunch in Honfleur - Edit
We hebben deze middag heel lekker gegeten bij la Cantine. Qua vegan opties waren er 2 bowls (tofu en falafel) en je kon ook een menu kiezen (voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht en dessert) met in elk een vegan optie. Wij hebben de noodles (menu) en tofubowl gegeten en dat was echt super lekker! Daarna ook nog een vegan appelcrumble als dessert. Mooie setting om te eten en ook nog eens bio drankjes op de lijst. Snelle en aardige bediening. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug.

Pretty restaurant with vegan options - Edit
I was on a tour of Normandy with a group. I was the only vegan and it was almost impossible to find restaurants with vegan options. Happy Cow led me to this ambient restaurant and they had a few vegan choices, which was great. I had the tofu bowl which was delicious and had lots of tofu, but I do have one criticism: cold white rice is not ideal as a base - perhaps change it to warm wild rice or quinoa? As in all the restaurants in Normandy, the wine was expensive. Overall a lovely lunch in a very welcoming restaurant.

We got the buddha bowl and were pleasantly surprised at the combination of flavours. It felt more Mediterranean than eastern which was unusual but absolutely not bad.
Read moreWe got some bread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil to go with, and the dessert afterwards which was a crumble. The dessert can be worked on, it really needed something like an ice cream or the sauce (that was supposed to be with it I assume) to make it balanced but I appreciate that they DID in fact have a vegan dessert at all. Next time I'd add some ice cream :)
Pros: The fact you can get a vegan bowl in Honfleur!, And it had tofu! Really good tofu!, Lovely service!
Cons: The dessert can be improved with some nice sauce.

We arrived on Tuesday around 14.30 for lunch, and we had about an hour before they closed, which was enough time. They reopen for diner. The tofu bowl was not available so for lunch, there was only the falafel bowl. Fresh, tangy and sweet flavors are nicely balanced. The falafel seemed homemade but lacked a distinguishing parsley or coriander flavor, was okay. Baguette served with bowl.
Read moreAt the moment, July ‘23 they had Apple crumble as a vegan dessert option. It was warm and flavorful, included a little rum. Crumble itself was very crumbly indeed.
Overall pretty interesting food, but not a 5 star. Service was super friendly, spoke some English and it was a cozy place to eat. Prizes quite expensive but that’s the general tourist location price.
